Happy Thursday! It’s the last Thursday of the month so I am linking up with Holly and Patty to answer 10 fun seasonal questions. I love thinking about my answers and seeing everyone else’s answers, too!

In July, we talked about summer fashion.

In August, we talked about back to school.

In September, we talked about fall and Halloween fun.

This month we are talking about Thanksgiving.

1. What are your Thanksgiving plans?
We are going to my parents’ house for Thanksgiving this year. My sister, brother-in-law, and niece are coming too! Some of us are watching the parade in the morning, some are running a turkey trot, and others are playing golf. I’ll help my mom in the kitchen and we’ll eat around dinner time.
2. Favorite Thanksgiving dish? Please share recipe.
I’ll share the same one I did last year because I still love it! I only make it for Thanksgiving dinner, so it is very special!
Step 1. Buy Ocean Spray jellied cranberry.
Step 2. Remove the lid with a can opener.
Step 3. Give it a good shake onto a plate.
Step 4. Enjoy.

3. Best food prep tips?
Well, this is my number one tip.

After that, if I am cooking or hosting I try to do as much as I can beforehand. I lay out all my dishes with sticky notes in them. I go over the menu a few times and my grocery list to make sure I have everything.

I am not very good at delegating but I think that would be a great tip for a big meal like Thanksgiving!
4. Favorite Thanksgiving traditions?
I love the parade. I love our newer traditions of getting Christmas pjs on Thanksgiving so you can wear them all season. I love getting together. I love coming home to the “Great Wall of Christmas” the week before Thanksgiving. I love putting my tree up on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I love our Saturday after Thanksgiving tradition of going out to dinner and watching the lights parade.

5. Turkey, ham, other, both?
Turkey, always turkey. Never ham.
6. Apple pie? pumpkin pie?
We have both but I don’t really like either. A few years ago, I made my peanut butter chocolate bars for a Thanksgiving dessert. Ha!

7. Football or family movie?
We do both! Football is on all day after the parade. However, as soon as the dinner dishes are finished, we always turn on White Christmas!
8. Stuffing or dressing?
We call it stuffing because we actually stuff it in the turkey. My mom always makes more stuffing than can fit in the bird, so we cook that in a separate dish. I guess that’s dressing.
9. Turkey trot or Thanksgiving parade?
We do it all! We ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. There is no exception to this, ever! We have years that we have done a turkey trot and years that we skip the trot. The guys often play golf on Thanksgiving morning, too.

10. Have you ever done a friendsgiving?
We have! Our neighbors hosted and it was fun! Even though we were busy, it was nice to make time to visit and catch up.
The end of October has really snuck up on me. I just realized that we don’t have a pumpkin yet for Halloween! And now to be talking about Thanksgiving! Yikes, I need to get my act together! It was fun to think about our Thanksgiving traditions and I can’t wait to read about everyone else’s. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Your “cranberry sauce recipe” made me chuckle- classic! One of my faves always 🙂 Your peanut butter chocolate bars look and sound amazing! Thanks for sharing
I do the same thing with sticky notes and serving dishes! I was just talking about making no bake peanut butter bars for Thanksgiving this year.
I love your favorite recipe! For a few years, I opted for a “fancier” whole cranberry sauce, but it’s hard to beat the original. We have many of the same traditions!
Love your recipe! But also totally going to take a look at the chocolate peanut butter bars. Thanks for joining us and helping people start thinking about Thanksgiving!
They are so yummy!!
I love #2 and I use the sticky notes method for keeping everything organized. What great traditions!
Love the sticky notes on the dishes! That’s a great idea. The parade is a must for me too!
I get my mom to make turkey too. Otherwise, we don’t have it!!!
