Happy Tuesday! This is one of my favorite posts of the year! It is Summer Beach Reads 2023!! I have a great list of books to share with you. They are going to be perfect to read all summer long!

I love to read these books on the beach,

by the pool,

and on my deck,

but I also enjoy them in the car and airport, on a plane, or on my couch. I tend to read on my kindle the most, but I do love to see the gorgeous covers and smell that new book smell when I’m reading!

These books are what I look forward to all fall, winter, and spring. Even though some of these books are already available, I always wait until school is out to start reading them. I think it makes them a little bit better.

Whoa! This list gets longer every year! I get so excited about summer reading season that I can’t help myself. I have my favorites, whom I affectionately refer to as my girls of summer, and I discover new authors each year that I think should be included. This year I created a list of all the books in order of publication. There are two pages, one with the Sunshine & Books coral background and one with a white background for easier printing.

Sometimes these books can be hard to get at the library because the holds list is so long. Sometimes they only come out in hardback and are more expensive than you’d like to spend on a book to read at the beach. If this is the case, I recommend checking out my previous Summer Beach Reads lists. There are some really great books here that will be available in paperback or have way fewer holds at the library.

I am literally counting down the days until school’s over and I start my summer reading list. My first book will be Happy Place by Emily Henry because I borrowed it from the library and it is going to disappear from my kindle soon! You can keep up with the books I am reading on my Books 2023 page.

One more thing I recommend to get you ready for your summer reading is to check in with your library and local bookstore. Our library and bookstore offer so many activities throughout the summer for adults and kids. My calendar is filling up with author visits and fun activities for all of us. Your librarians and booksellers are also amazing resources for finding new books and authors!
