Friday Favorites – 5/10/12

Happy Friday! Well, this was quite a week. I know I teased that my favorite post of the year would be my Friday Favorites post, but this week got busier than I thought it would and I don’t want to rush that post. So, stay tuned. I promise it’s coming! I do have some favorites from our busy week, so let’s get to them!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: DRESSES!! I wore a dress on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. It’s been humid but cool in the library at school and these were perfect. I wore an old Lilly dress Monday that I need to wear more often because it’s so comfy. On Tuesday, I wore my favorite powersoft dress. On Wednesday, I wore a romper to school but this cute dress to dinner with my mom. On Thursday, I wore this comfy dress to school and didn’t even change right away when I got home. I have the dress in grass and navy and love them both.

Favorite 2: GOLF! Jack’s golf team had their playoff match on Tuesday. Jeff and I walked along and quietly cheered them on. The match ended in a tie so the playoff went to a playoff. They ended up losing, but should still be proud of themselves. This was the best season the JV golf team has ever had. Jack had a great time and has already been back to the golf course to keep practicing.

It was hot and humid, but towards the end it got a little cooler and I could put my quarter zip on over my favorite powersoft dress.

Favorite 3: ARM PARTY! I have been having so much fun stacking bracelets together to match my outfits. Most of them are from Gray Co., but I am wearing a lot of Stella & Dot on my left hand with my watch.

Favorite 4: EAR PARTY! A few weeks ago, my friend Amy told me that she wasn’t paying me back for lunch when we did Chick-fil-a pick up one day because she wanted to buy a pair of earrings for me instead. I don’t know about you, but I was thrilled! How cute are these earrings with my new strawberry dress?? They are so light and so fun!! Amy got the lemon earrings to go with her lemon dress. We decided that we need to go out for happy hour and let everyone see how fabulous our outfits are together!

Favorite 5: BOOKS! I am still working through the novels for my meeting on Wednesday, but after that I will be ready for my Summer Beach Reads! I’ve read four and am in the middle of my fifth one.

Favorite 6: TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK! I love the families at my school. They are so kind and supportive all year long. I affectionately refer to Teacher Appreciation Week as elastic pants week because we are spoiled with breakfasts, lunches, and treats all week long. This year our PTA asked students write notes to teachers and they are so sweet. I have gotten the kindest, most heartwarming notes. We’ve played games, had trivia contests, and laughed popping in and out of each other’s classrooms all while delivering dynamite instruction. 😊 One student made a necklace for me with her name and my name on it. It’s sparkly, personalized jewelry which is one of my favorite things! Her sweet smile when I opened it and put it right on was the best! May is so crazy at school and at home, so this week is perfectly placed to help me take a deep breath, enjoy not packing lunch, and focus on how grateful I am for my students and their families.

Favorite 7: DINNER SNEAK PEEK! On Wednesday night, my mom and I went to a wine dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in town. I’m going to share more next week, but there were five courses with five delicious wines. We had the best time talking and laughing and talking even more. It’s not that often that Mom and I do something without anyone else and it was so fun!

Hello Monday
Let’s Look – Summer Staples

Well, this weekend is shaping up to be another busy May weekend. Between the boys, we have a lacrosse game, swim banquet, soccer game, and hopefully some golf course time. I’m not sure what our Mother’s Day is going to look like but I do know that I am not cooking dinner or doing any dishes. I know that Mother’s Day can be frought for some, so I hope that everyone has a peaceful Mother’s Day however you choose to spend it. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Your earrings are so cute! I usually try to throw a little something together for all of Alec’s teacher but this year he plans on baking them all a little something just before graduation so I figured I’d hold off and make them some cards he can give them along with his freshly baked treats.

Well done to Jack’s team with the golf. It sounds like they have had a great season.
Those earrings are so cute and go perfectly with your dress! What fun!
Teacher appreciation week sounds brilliant! All teachers deserve all the treats all of the time.

I loved your faves this week, especially when you call teacher appreciation week “elastic waist pants week.” Ha! Happy Mother’s Day!

Congrats to your golfer! We do a number of wine dinners here and I enjoy them so much. I feel like I’ve learned a lot about the wines and how to better pair with food. Happy Mother’s Day!
