Year End Wrap Up – 12/29/23

Happy Friday! I am sharing some fun year end wrap up today. Even though I love books and reading, I am a numbers girl at heart. I am also an enneagram 3 so numbers can give me a sense of accomplishment. I just love to know the numbers!

Sunshine

Since this blog is called Sunshine & Books, I thought I’d start with sunshine. I set a goal to get 23 minutes outside every day. I stopped keeping track of it in April because the tracker I picked was a total pain to do! Not counting today, Saturday, or Sunday, I ended up missing the 8 days before I started the challenge mid January, 6 days in January, 4 days in February, and 4 days in March. That’s it! Once I got to April, I got outside every day in any weather. I do have bus duty to thank for my outside time at least 3 days a week. Soccer practices have helped, too! Most of my outside time that wasn’t poolside or on the beach was walking and running I have always known that sunshine brings me joy, but I found this year that any time outside brought me joy, too. Fresh air is so good for me, and really all of us!  I am not sure how I will keep track of this next year, but I am definitely going to keep up with my time outside.

Books

This is Sunshine & Books, so here are the books. I am hoping to read three more books before the year ends, but as of right now here are my stats. I read 77 books this year. I completed my Goodreads challenge of 60 books on August 22nd.

I listened to 8 books. I read 22 children’s novels and graphic novels. I have no idea how many children’s picture books I read. I don’t keep track of that, but I read a TON! I am not sure how many pages I read, but Goodreads will tell me that soon. Be sure to keep checking back in January for a book update and my new reading goal.

Sunshine & Books

Including today, I wrote 174 posts this year. January had the most posts with 19 and June had the fewest with 10. Thanks to you, there were over 100,000 views and almost 26,000 visitors to Sunshine & Books! You left over 1,000 comments. Most of you read on Monday around 6 am. Early birds, just like me! The most views came from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. There were readers from 73 countries this year! Wow! Thank you!

The most popular post continues to be Jeff’s Key Lime Crush recipe. It is delicious!!

Summer Beach Reads 2023 came in second.

Spotify

My Spotify wrapped was pretty fun this year. I don’t listen to a ton of music on my phone, but when I do it follows the concerts I went to or wanted to go to. I don’t use Spotify for podcasts, but I think I am going to next year because I like the statistics. My music tastes say I belong in

Wilmington, North Carolina. I would love to live there. It’s a little warmer than Maryland and a lot beachier!! These are my top five artists and the months they shined.

My top five artists and songs are…

I am so grateful to have seen four of them in concert! The Wheeland Brothers were on my list for 2023 but I didn’t make it happen. We were going to get tickets at the door, it was a really rainy night, and we didn’t have any grandparents available to hang with the boys. I am hoping they come back to Maryland this spring because I am going to make it happen. If I learned one thing from Jimmy Buffett’s passing, it is go to the concert!

Peloton

I didn’t realize it but Peloton sent an email with a recap of the year, but they did. It was way back on December 13th though. Apparently my best workout season for Peloton workouts was spring. As of last night, I’ve done 186 workouts. I did over 3,000 minutes of exercise on the Peloton app. I think I can do more next year! This year, I decided to use the calendar from a Facebbok group called #hardCORE On The Floor. There is an amazing woman, Nicole, who curates classes each month for a great workout. I don’t do all of the workouts each day, but it is so nice to just click and go.

Enneagram

I am an enneagram 3. I follow a few enneagram accounts on Instagram. EnneagramAshton had this fun wrapped series for each of the nine enneagrams. These all feel about right to me.

What’s Up Wednesday
Monthly Musings

That was fun! I am so grateful for you, the readers! I have so much fun interacting with you, learning from you, and being inspired by you! Thank you for reading and commenting. Next year, I am going to work on replying to comments and commenting on posts I read on other blogs. Happy New Year! Have fun and be safe ringing in the new year! Remember, Hello Monday will be back every Monday starting January 8th. I hope you’ll join us! I’ll be back one day next week. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Such a fun wrap up of the year. My family keeps trying to convince us to move to Wilmington, NC since that’s where both my sisters moved to and my aunt lives there too…. but I’m not 100% convinced. I like the area but it’s much too built up for me. I want a more quiet beach area. BUT I would love to live closer to the beach for sure.

I love your year end wrap! Getting outside makes such a difference for mood. I’m going to work on replying to comments too! Happy New Year!

I love this! I don’t know how I missed the key lime crush cocktail! I will definitely try to make that when it gets warmer. I am a seasonal drinker – ha! I like my bourbon cocktails and red wine in the winter and the more fruity in the warm weather.
I also did great about getting outside and that is the cure for most things!
