I’m getting so excited for Saturday! I am hosting my second annual Declare It Day brunch. I have invited my closest high school and grown up girlfriends to join me in setting some goals that really stretch us. My plan for the morning is to move our bodies (run, walk, yoga, tabata, etc), declare some amazing goals, toast our friendship, and enjoy a yummy breakfast. When we declare those goals, these ladies and I are going to get gutsy and declare to do things that will really change us. We are going to support each other on our journey. We are going to honor our journey and have a bunch of fun while we do it.
Last year I declared to run at least 1017 km and to read 50 books. I only met one of my goals, but came pretty darn close to the other one.

At this point, I was 1 month and 4 days into a run streak and I wasn’t completely sure I could keep it up all year.
I achieved this goal, and more. I ended up running 1200ish km and started a run streak that is still going strong (RSD 395). I haven’t ever stuck with an exercise goal for this long. This goal changed the way I think about myself, how strong my mind and body are, and how I budget my time. It has be a true life changer!

My goal was to read 50 books, drink more water & less soda, and eat more fruits and vegetables.
This is the goal I didn’t quiet meet. I will finish my 46th book this week. I still drink 2 cans of Diet Coke each day (I know it’s terrible but I loathe coffee and love the caffeinated bubbles). I have added more fruits and vegetables to my diet. I cut out a bunch of sweet treats, so people no longer think I am eating to become diabetic (I’m joking, but not really). I am pretty sure I have about 5 sweet teeth instead of the one sweet tooth that most people have :).
I am still working on this years goals but I have a few in mind. I am definitely going to have another book goal because I found that trying to achieve a reading goal kept me from mindlessly scrolling through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Here is this year’s Declare It Day form:
