Hello Monday – 1/20/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

We have had quite a weekend with plans changing, snow, sleet, sports, and a yummy dinner! I am sharing eight great things from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Our weekend is still going today because we don’t have school for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

1-Jack had a home swim meet on Friday night for his high school swim team. The school photographer was there and we got two great pictures of Jack. It was senior night and they had a fun pizza party afterwards. All three teams (boys varsity, boys jv, and girls) won their meet! It was a great Friday night!

2-Jack and Luke were supposed to have a swim meet on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. They moved some of Sunday’s events to the Saturday session and we were at the pool for 7 hours on Saturday afternoon and evening. I volunteered as a meet marshall on deck. They gave me a radio and a bright yellow vest. Luke ended up swimming six events and Jack swam five. It was a great day at the pool for both of them!

3-Luke’s soccer game was not canceled on Sunday. It was good to get him out and running around, but the drive was a little unnerving. We made it there and back safely and tucked in for the rest of the evening.

4-I made one of our favorite cold weather dinners. I mentioned this soup recently but didn’t have the containers to add a picture. We had some leftover pizza and a salad with this soup for an easy, warm dinner.

5-The snow forecast was anywhere between 1″ and 10″ for yesterday. As of 9 pm last night, we had about 3″. I am happy to not have much more than that because it is going to be so so unbelievably cold this week. The kids are looking forward to sledding today because it is going to be icy on top of the snow and they can really sail down the hill.

6-I am so happy I left the Christmas lights on our back deck and around the monument/cemetary in our backyard. They look so pretty in the snow.

7-I woke up feeling a bit stuffy on Sunday and had a lazy morning. I watched CBS Sunday Morning (my favorite) and read most of the morning. Even though that is not how I usually start my day, it was great to be able to do it.

8-All four of us were hanging out together in the family room Sunday evening. It was just wonderful. We watched a both football games and relaxed!

We are keeping our weekend going today because school is canceled for Martin Luther King, Jr. day. The boys have their physicals and I am going to get some work done on a Science of Reading class I am taking. Hopefully I’ll get some reading time in and get ready for the week. If you blogged today, please link up with us below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

1-10 inches! So precise! Ha – I’m glad you only got 3, too. We got a bit of snow yesterday morning and it was nice to be at home to watch the big fluffy flakes come down. I think we only got 1 inch. Brutally cold! OMG! Enjoy your day off today. I am considering not leaving the house.

That sounds like our forecast yesterday too! I’m guessing we got 3 or so inches as well and while it looks pretty this morning I am so glad we didn’t get more. With the cold weather we’ll be having I don’t think any of this will be melting any time soon. Those pool shots of Jack are fabulous!

We got a little snow and some very cold temps too. Congrats to Jack on a great meet. The pics are great. You look so official with your vest and radio! My kids gave dentist appointments today & they are just thrilled haha

That is a fantastic photo of Jack diving into the pool! It sounds like a great weekend of swimming!
I hope the kids have fun in the snow! Here it feels like it’s getting warmer, still grey and gloomy but we don’t have freezing temperatures anymore.

When we lived in North Jersey and got literal feet of snow every other day we left colored lights on one tree in our backyard. Made me so happy. We called it our Festivus tree : ) Fantastic pool photos! Enjoy your snow day!

I love that! I think I am going to leave our cemetary fence lights up until it is grass cutting season. I have an extension cord running out there and don’t want to accidently zap my grass cutters (Jeff, Jack, and Luke)!
