Happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a great week! We didn’t have school yesterday and we have a two hour delay today. It’s nice to ease into another week. I was planning out my blog posts for the week and I decided I wanted to talk about… enneagram numbers!

While I don’t live and die by the enneagram, I love to learn things about myself and others through the lens of enneagram numbers. After reading about the 9 ennegram types, I figured I was a 1 or a 3. Then I took an enneagram test and I am a 3, but 1 is a close second. I am curious and ask a lot of questions, so once I figured out I am a 3 I started reading and learning as much as I could.
The enneagram 3 is called the acheiver. I have also seen them called the performer. The basic fear of a 3 is being worthless and the basic desire is to feel valuable and worthwhile. I like these graphics for a little reference.

Most of this one makes sense to me, except the spending your childhood working for love. I did not work to be loved one bit. My parents and grandparents love me so much and I always knew it!

I know there are positive and negative traits that go with every personality type, but I like to focus on the positive ones! I like this list of things about my personality that I am grateful for:

As all the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025 posts and thoughts were coming up in my Instagram feed, I took screenshots of a few. These words for 2025 made me laugh a little because my gut reaction to no and still was why would I ever want to pick that. I guess that means I could use a little stillness in my life. Those top three phrases in the 2024 wrapped post are straight out of my mouth!

I listen to the Mel Robbins podcast and her new book is The Let Them theory. I saw these Let Them/Let Me posts and they made so much sense to me. Let them be inefficient is a hard one for me. In fact, I ran some errands last week and texted my friends about how frustrated I was with how inefficient everyone I encountered was. Let them, Sarah, let them.

Along with that, I should share this with Jeff, Jack, and Luke to help me see…

I like how clear these lists are. I agree with all 10 of these!

I like how this one sums up a few things about enneagram 3s.

Jeff had to take an enneagram test for a work retreat last year. I think it has helped me understand and communicate with him better. We started dating 23 years ago, but there is always room to learn new things about each other and be a better couple. Now when I am scrolling through my favorite enneagram instagram accounts, I check both of our numbers.
Speaking of those instagram accounts, my graphics came from EnneagramAshton, MirabelleCreations, EnneagramExplained, AlignedSoulCo, and EnneagramHive. I love how they share enneagram information. Thank you to these creators for sharing their knowledge in such great graphics!
Have you ever taken an enneagram test? Has anyone in your family? Do you think it helps you understand why you do things? I really do! Have you taken any other personality tests? I haven’t but I want to. I’m off to check a few more things off my to do list before I go to bed like the enneagram 3 that I am, ha! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

This just fascinates me- I think I am very similar to you- thanks for sharing
Hi Sarah! I’ve been reading your blog for some time but have yet to comment. I enjoy learning about your boys and, as a retired kindergarten teacher, I appreciate your life as a school librarian and your love of reading! Your post prompted me to explore my Enneagram type, something I’ve always wanted to do but never have. I found myself going down a rabbit hole (happily) and so much of myself was confirmed (type 9!) and now I want to explore more! Thank you!
I have never studied enneagrams but I do enjoy personality type test; even if I am usually firmly tied between a few of them.
