Happy Friday! I am extra happy to see this Friday! We are changing our schedule a bit at school today and instead of my super busy Friday I have my much slower Monday schedule. I am looking forward to a very productive Friday! I have a list of favorites from the week, so let’s get to it!

Favorite 1: HEARTS!! I mentioned this cute tote on Wednesday but I didn’t add a picture. How fun is it? I love a big purse and it is perfect! It adds a bit of love everywhere I go! My mom decided that my sister, my mom, and I would love it and she was right! Thanks Mom!

Isn’t the matching pouch so cute, too? 😍

Favorite 2: TWO HOUR DELAYS! I have always loved a two hour delay. They count as a day in the school year count, we get to have a slower morning, and the day flies by. We had a delay on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. It was great! It did make a full day on Thursday feel a little long, but that’s ok by me!
A not favorite, and part of the reason we had those delays, is the weather. Can you even believe these temperatures? I saw 0, -1, and 2 this week. It is absolutely freezing! I think today’s high of 31 will feel almost balmy.

Favorite 3: BOOKS!! I was so excited to meet Gordon Korman again. He came to my hometown in 1992 and I met him then. He came back on Tuesday night and I was determined to go. Gordon was so entertaining. He really understands what kids want to read and write characters that they can relate to. When he did the book signing and personalizing after his talk, I showed him my original books from our meeting in 1992. It was so cool!

I finally started reading Mel Robbin’s The 5 Second Rule and I am loving it. I need to finish it before the library tracks me down to get it back. Ironically, the book seems to be about not procrastinating and that is what I have done about reading it.
I finally finished reading Christmas books and have started to read some of the books that have been hanging out on my kindle.
Favorite 4: SWIMMING!! There isn’t a week that goes by in the winter where swimming isn’t a favorite. Even if it doesn’t officially make the list, I love how happy my boys are after practice. I love the friends they have on swim team. I love how tired they are after two hours of practice, too. This week my parents came to cheer on Jack at the last dual meet of the season.

On Saturday, the boys had an extended swim meet session and we were on deck together for almost 8 hours. I was an on deck marshall and they were swimming as fast as they could!

Favorite 5: BUILDING!! Luke has always been my kid that likes to build things. He got a 3D printer for Christmas and has been making so many things. He’s started selling some fidgets and is doing quite well. He’s been figuring out how to build things and the supports they need through the building process. He built this shuttle this week after a few tries. It’s pretty cool!

He also got this vehicle for Christmas. He built this and figured out how to drive and program it. Its fun to watch him tinker with things and figure out how to make them work best.

Hello Monday
Let’s Talk About… Enneagram
Wednesday Hodgepodge
I am hoping to get a lot done around the house on Saturday. The boys will be at their confirmation retreat and I am going to do my best to plow through my to do list. I am hoping to get a good workout and a good walk in, too. We gave the boys experiences for Christmas and are doing Luke’s on Saturday night. I’ll share more about that on Monday. It’s going to be a bit warmer, in the 40s, so I’m curious to see how much snow might actually melt. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

That tote is so cute and perfect for this time of year.
Eek! It does sound so cold with you! I hope you are managing to stay warm.
The 3D printer sounds like great fun, the shuttle does look cool!
I am so fascinated by these 3D printers- I bet Luke is having a blast with it. I totally get why swim is always a favorite especially in the winter! Have a great weekend and enjoy the warmer temps!
Love the heart tote. Too cute! Luke’s creations are amazing! We had an odd week too. I wish they’d give us a two hours delay occasionally but we haven’t had one in quite some time. Have a great weekend
Anytime we change the schedule I feel out of whack – doing it again today for a pep rally! I told the kids I can hardly remember the normal schedule!
Happy Friday to you!
It has been SO COLD! I’ll take the 100 degrees any day 🙂
2 hr delays were always my favorite when I was a classroom teacher too. Glad your school gave everyone time to “warm up” before starting the day!
Hope you have a productive weekend – have fun Saturday!
I love that your son likes to build things, mine always did too! And two of them only swam for a very short time but gosh, those days were fun. I absolutely love your Lands End tote. I own several of them, but I’ve never seen any as cute with the hearts! Have a great weekend
That heart tote is so cute! We had lots of negative temps this week too; even our heat was having a hard time keeping up. Your Luke sounds a lot like my oldest Ian, he loves to build and tinker and has been having lots of fun creating things with his 3-d printer. That shuttle is so cool!
The tote is so cute! I am super fascinated by the 3D printers, but don’t understand them at all. I’m glad the next generation gets it.
