Hello Monday – 9/23/24

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly for our fun linkup. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I am sharing a little goals update today. I set goals for the whole summer and here we are in fall, so I am looking back to see how I did.

Strength train 4x a week – nope! I did exercise most days but I didn’t strength train as much as I was planning to.

Drink at least 80 ounces of water a day – yes! I missed a few days, but I drank a lot of water most days and I felt good doing it. I’ve struggled with this a little since I went back to work, but revisiting this goal has me recommitted to it.

Read at least 2 books a week – yes! I read 24 books from June 20 – September 21. That is two books a week.

Take advantage of time with people – I think I did a pretty good job with this. My screen time was down for the summer and I had some great conversations with the people I was with.

Learn to French braid – nope! I still haven’t learned. I was hoping the lifeguards would teach me or I could do it at the pool when I had wet hair, but I didn’t do it.

Tackle/purge a few areas in our house – yes! I did clean out quite a few areas. I worked on the linen closet, under my bathroom sink, under the boys’ bathroom sink, the coat closet, and continued with my mantra to only keep clothes that feel good when I put them on. I do have more to do, but I feel good about the areas I got to this summer.

Eat an in-season fruit or vegetable at most meals – yes! I didn’t eat a big variety of fruits and veggies but I did eat a bunch. I was hoping to visit our local farm more than I did for their fruits and veggies. The grocery store did just fine for fruits and veggies this summer.

Take time to move and rest every day – yes! I did move and rest most days. The pool makes it pretty easy to rest in my lounge chair. The weather and more free time make it pretty easy to make time to move my body.

Thinking about my goals, I had a pretty great summer! I liked thinking of my goals for an entire season, instead of one month at a time. The months of my summer all go together and there isn’t really a big difference between each one. In the fall, winter, and spring, I am going to stick with monthly goals because I have more going on with work and life outside of work. Those monthly goals keep me focused in that shorter period of time. I’m going to start those in October.

Today is my 44th birthday! I am always excited for a birthday, but did you see the recent study that came out about 44 year olds?? Rude! I have decided that my goal for 44 is to turn 45 stronger than I am now, always looking for the good around me, and having spent more time with the people I love. That’s it for today.     Happy bday! I think you did really well! You are a young chick! Do not let that affect you and I know you won’t! You live life to the fullest and have a great attitude!

    Great goals! I can’t French braid either. Happy birthday! I’ve been struggling with back to school and reading and working out. Maybe Oct will be the month I get back on track ?

    Happy birthday to you! You’ve done a good job meeting your goals. I’ve made a fall bucket list which is a mix of need to do and want to do so hoping I get it all checked off. Enjoy your day! I hope there’s cake!
