Happy Monday! I cannot believe it is the last day in September. I can’t decide if September flew by or took its sweet time. I do know that the start of school feels like it started quite some time ago, but I cannot believe that we only have three months left in 2024. Either way, we had a great last weekend in September and I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from it. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Last Monday, I said that I wanted to spend my year getting stronger, always looking for the good, and spending time with the people I love. I am going to try something new to work towards that. I love a rhyme so I am going to share EIGHT GREAT things from our weekends on Monday. I think this will keep me looking for the good (☀️sunshine☀️) even on the most mundane or busiest weekends. Here we go…
1-Luke played really well in his soccer game this weekend and they won. It was so fun to cheer him on with Jeff, my dad, and Jeff’s parents.

2-After a week of rainy days, the sun came out on Saturday afternoon. I soaked it all up at Luke’s game and then spent another few hours outside getting as much sun as possible.
3-Both boys volunteered at our church this weekend. Jack was with a few friends and Luke volunteered with our neighbors and me. It was so great to see them having fun while giving back.
4-We had family dinner on Saturday. We haven’t eaten together all week and it was great to be back around the table. Another great part of it was that Jeff grilled on Saturday and Sunday so I only had to make the sides. It was nice to share the cooking load.
5-I finished The Husbands this weekend. I have been reading it all week and was ready to find out what happened and move on to my next book. I took Luke to the gym pool to swim on Sunday morning and I read in the warm air while he got his workout in. I started The Cliffs and I am enjoying it so far!

6-Jeff let me know that I had filled three of our laundry baskets and he didn’t have anywhere put my laundry from last week or this week. Oops! After I got home from the gym with Luke, I started crusing through the house taking care of everything in the laundry basket. It took me a few hours because it became a bit of an if you give a mouse a cookie situation. You know, if you give a mouse a cookie, he’ll probably want a glass of milk to go with it. Well, this was if Sarah puts away the sheets, she’s going to clean out the linen closet and if Sarah starts bagging up the donation clothes, she’s going to go through her shorts to see if there is more to donate. It is great though because everything is now put away, bagged up, delivered to new places, and the laundry can be folded and put away.
7-Jack asked for a new bookshelf for his room. He had a 3×3 cube shelf and gave it to Luke a few months ago. Luke filled it with books and then Jack moved his Pottery Barn Kids chair to the basement and asked for another 3×3 bookshelf. At this point I am an expert putting them together and I got that done yesterday afternoon. He already got it set up and his room is fitting his needs.
8-I made tonight’s dinner, chili, yesterday afternoon. After making that dinner, Sunday’s lunch dishes, and Sunday’s dinner dishes, my kitchen looked like a Dawn commercial. The dishwasher was running, the sink was full of dishes, and there were even more dishes on the counter. The great thing there is my dishwasher. I have been running it at least once a day all week and twice on Wednesday and Sunday. I love that dishwasher!

We have a pretty normal week. Soccer practice, swim practice, golf, a late meeting, and school days. We are also celebrating Jeff’s birthday. I hope you can look back and find some great things about your weekend, too. If you blogged, don’t forget to link up with us today. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

It does sound like a good weekend with the people you love, being outside and good food. Yes, I am so thankful for a dishwasher too!
The part of your post that resonated with me was the not eating together! I have forever made that a huge part of our lives but with practices and my oldest working and stuff, we just don’t do it as often. Sometimes hubs and I have lunch together but don’t do dinner so it’s me making kid meals here and there.
Well done to Luke in his soccer game.
It’s nice when the sun shines, we had a sunny weekend but the rain is back today. Hmmf!
It sounds like you had a busy time sorting the laundry. hehehe I do the same, start one job which leads me on to another, then another.
You had a busy weekend, Sarah! My grandson plays High School soccer and we go to all his games–so muich fun!
Love when you talk about your goals- I think you are one of the most organized gals around for sure!
I’m trying! You are pretty organized yourself my friend!
That’s what my sink looks like tonight with the dishwasher going… I feel like ours runs a lot.
We are all in it together, aren’t we? We run ours at least once a day.
