Hello Monday – 5/20/24

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll grab our graphic and link up with us for Hello Monday!

Well, this was lined up to be one of the busiest weekends of the entire year, but the weather shook it up a bit. It seems I forgot that I am a blogger who shares her weekend and took very few pictures. So this will probably be pretty short and sweet!

On Friday after school, I did our grocery pickup and a quick dash through Aldi to get pizza for dinner. Do you have an Aldi? Have you tried their take and bake pizza? It is tasty, big, and cheap! Both boys were going to swim practice and Jeff and I went to a friend’s house for happy hour while Jack was swimming. Luke had lacrosse playoffs this weekend and wanted to spend some time at the wall while Jack was swimming so it worked out perfectly.

On Saturday, I got up and headed to Trader Joe’s to be there right when it opened. The weather was terrible, but it was worth it. I got a bunch of fuschia peonies and they’re beautiful. Jeff’s staying away from them but I am enjoying them! Luke’s soccer team had their end of year party scheduled, but it was postponed because of the rain. So we had a few hours free before Luke’s playoff lacrosse game. The other team didn’t show up, so they were headed to the championship. Then we went to a graduation party at the pool (in the rain) and headed to my parent’s house. My sister and her family came to town and we spent some time with them. It was a great night!

On Sunday, we woke up and Jeff went to work for the day. They were hosting a big alumni event to honor everyone that graduated 50 or more years ago. The ladies loved it! Way to go Jeff!

Jack and I took Luke to his lacrosse championship game. He had an assist and played well, but they didn’t win. After an undefeated season, they came up short in the championship. The boys played hard and should be proud of themselves! They still have one tournament left in the season, so the fun isn’t over yet!

On the way home I dropped Jack at the golf course. Luke and I chilled a bit at home and then headed to his soccer game. I picked up Jack before the game started and Jeff joined us there. They played hard the whole game, but lost by 1. This was their last regular season game and they have a tournament next weekend.

We grabbed dinner to eat on the deck and then I started getting breakfasts, lunches, and dinners ready for the week around 8 pm. On account of it’s May, this week is going to be another busy one at school and at home. Knowing that there’s a three day weekend and the pool is open at the end of the week will be enough to power me through!

Oh, I can’t believe I forgot to mention this – The sun came out on Sunday!! Thank goodness! It is about time we had some sun on a weekend day! The forecast looks pretty good for this week so I am excited about that! My plans for this week include spending as much time outside as I possibly can!

I finished one book this weekend (Montgomery and the Case of the Golden Key) and made some good progress in the other (The Most Fun We Ever Had). I really want to finish it so I can get started on my first Summer Beach Read of 2024! I have a few evening obligations this week, so I am not sure what my posts will be this week. I will definitely be back on Friday with my favorites! If you blogged today, be sure to link up with us below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I was also a bad blogger about pictures! I didn’t do much that was photo worthy! We are close! You will love your pool being open! I miss the days of having a pool that I belong to but now I have a pay as I go option. Happy Monday!

We were in MD this weekend, Annapolis and the rain missed us, but it was cloudy all weekend long. Back in sunny SC now : ) Our pool has been open for a couple of weeks but I haven’t been in yet. We bought paddle boards this year for the lake but I haven’t tried them yet as I know I’ll end up in the water and it’s still cool for me. People are definitely swimming so maybe next week. Enjoy your books and sunshine!

Those peonies are so pretty! Even with the rain it sounds like you had a busy weekend. I too am so excited that this week’s weather is looking good and keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay this way!
