Happy Friday! Oh, I am so happy it is Friday! We had another regular busy week. I have some favorites to share with you, so let’s get to it!

Favorite 1: CONTACTS!! Jack has been asking for contacts for a little while, but it has been difficult to get an appointment with school and golf. We were able to make it work on Monday. Then he went back for a how to wear contacts class on Tuesday and now he has them. He does a pretty good job putting them in and taking them out. He’s loving them and excited to wear sunglasses again for golf.

Favorite 2: ELECTION DAY!! It was so nice to have a midweek day off school. Luke and I went to the pool for a bit to plant all the flowers in the planters. The weather was perfect for planting (drizzly all day) but not for swimming. We ran a few errands and went to Chipotle for lunch (Luke’s choice). Of course, I voted and took Luke with me.

Favorite 3: BOOKS!! I got to participate in the Battle of the Books selection committee meeting this week. It was virtual, but it was still fun to talk books with other school and public librarians. I may have done a little multitasking during the middle school portion of the meeting.

I shared my Summer Beach Reads on Monday and can’t wait to start reading those books! I have a few on my kindle already, a few on my library holds list, and I am waiting to get a few in case I can meet the authors. What a great combination!

Favorite 4: SUNSHINE!! Even though it feels like it is has been raining every single day, the sun did make an appearance on Monday and Thursday! On Monday, I did some yard work at school in the sun.

On Thursday, I went to the pool to check on the flowers and enjoyed my favorite view for a little while. The pool opens in 8 days and I can’t wait to soak up the sun right here!

Favorite 5: MINIVAN!! I have been spending so much time in my van lately. I am so happy that I drive a van. There is always space for everything I need and it’s really comfortable. I love this van!

Favorite 6: RUNNING! I have been pretty good about running when Luke is at soccer practice. On Wednesday, it was raining and then sprinkling and then misting. I decided that even though I love my van, I wasn’t going to sit in it for 90 minutes. I put on a hat and went for my planned run. It went back and forth between misting and sprinkling, but I kept running. I felt like I was becoming a runner again when I finished my rainy run.

Favorite 7: CACTUS! I still need to repot my cacti and this one had me worried when it dropped a big branch last week. But then, when I checked on it Thursday morning it was blooming. I love the bright pink blooms! Don’t worry, I will repot most of these plants soon!

Favorite 8: FAIRY HAIR! If you remember, I tried fairy hair for the first time in December. I got 15 strands and I loved it. I’ve lost quite a few and have 2 or 3 left that look pretty rough. I got a very last minute appointment yesterday to get 15 more strands. They’ll take a few days to curl in with my hair, but I just love it!

We have a great weekend planned. My sister is coming to town, Luke has lacrosse playoffs, and we have three parties to go to. I’d like to finish two books, one kid and one adult, so I can get started on my first Summer Beach Read! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Awesome job on the running and that pool view looks perfect!
Lots of great favorites this week! We saw the sunshine a time or two also and it feels wonderful when the sun shines.
It sounds like Jack is doing great with the contacts, well done him.
Election day sounds like a really fun day, despite the weather. We have had rain almost every day too.
Yea for contacts! I bet he loves them. I can’t wait to check out your Summer beach books. I’m catching up on my blog reading today.
Hadley and friends put fairy hair in for the last cotillion dance. So fun.
