Hello Monday – 5/1/23

Happy Monday! Happy May! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I’m sharing my May goals with you today. I have three continued goals and two new ones. May can get pretty busy, so my goals are manageable while keeping me on track for a great month.

1. I am going to do strength training every morning before school.

I need to do it every morning or it’s too easy for me to hit snooze or read when my alarm goes off. Two weeks into this goal and it’s going well. I originally set this goal for 3 weeks (4/17-5/5) but I’m going to keep it as a goal for all of May.

2. I am going to Walk+Run 2 days a week and walk the other days.

Since I set this goal on 4/17, I’ve progressed to interval runs on the Peloton app! This is another goal I set for 3 weeks and am extending for the whole month.

3. Drink two 32 oz Swigs before dinner.

I am drinking so much more than I was a few weeks ago. I’m keeping this as a rule. No end to this one in sight.

4. I am going to learn how to French braid.

I can braid, but I don’t know how to French braid. With my hair shorter, I’d love to be able to do a little braid to pull some hair back from my face. My friend Jodi does that with her hair sometimes and I think it looks great! I’m thinking YouTube will be the way to learn, unless a friend wants to teach me. Do you have a YouTube recommendation?

5. Make my Tuesdays count!

At school, Tuesday is my least busy day of classes. At home, Tuesday evenings are our least busy, also. I need to use those Tuesdays in May to be the most prepared. I often enjoy a slower pace on Tuesdays, but in May I need to take advantage of the unclaimed time. Specifically, I am going to plan and prepare for the entire following school week. I am going to get started on the week’s blog posts, set a grocery pickup, start meal plans, and tackle anything leftover from my weekend to do list.

6. Read more, screen less.

My screen/mindless scrolling time is creeping up and I’d like to change that. Luckily, I have a bunch of great books to read in the next two weeks. I am going to go back to time limits and do not disturb on my phone. It really helps me keep from getting sucked in.

On April 17th, I set those first three goals and said I would reward myself with a Swig if I met them on May 5th. These are my top choices right now. What do you think?

I love Swigs!

Are you setting any May goals? What are you focusing on this month? I can’t wait to hear about it and encourage you!! Be sure to link up with Holly and me below if you blogged today. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

My goal is survival! Ha! Just kidding – I really need to make some manageable goals for myself, too. I also need to drink more water. Tuesdays are my long day and I can’t wait to get over the hump and get to Wednesday. I think your goals are great and you will crush them!

Tuesdays are our least busy evenings and I always appreciate the slower pace. I can’t French braid but my mom can. She just braided hadleys hair last night. Hadley can pretty much French braid, so I guess we’ve skipped a generation 😆

My goal for this month, to be more active, walking after my knee replacement surgery less than 3 months ago.
Thank you for the opportunity to link up here.

Great goals! I have zero Youtube videos for you but I promise that French braiding is really not hard; I recommend trying to find someone else to practice on first as it’s easier to see what you’re doing and then try it on your own hair.
