I was listening to an episode of The Girl Next Door podcast and they were looking back at the past 10 years of podcasting. Erika mentioned that something she loved about the podcast was the accountability it provided. She talked about goal setting and it hit a nerve for me. I realized I was missing my goals this month. When March ended, I was looking straight at spring break and didn’t think one bit about a goal. Fast forward 15 days and I realized I am missing my goals and need to hold myself accountable.
I am tired and not exercising as much as I am used to. It is way to early in the spring season and school year to be sliding in with a hope and a prayer. So here are my three goals for the rest of the month.
1. Strength training every morning.
Every morning? I know what you may be thinking, but I know myself and if I don’t get up every morning it’s too easy to sleep in or rest in the morning. Every Morning!
2. I am going to Walk+Run or run 2 evenings a week. I am going to go for a walk on the other days.
My brain works and feels better when I am outside and moving. I am making this a priority.
3. I am going to drink at least two 32 ounce Swigs of water before dinner.
I am reaching for another Diet Pepsi in the afternoon but I really need water. Every time I wake up overnight or in the morning, I am so thirsty. I know I will feel better and sleep better if I do it.
I know I will feel better if I do these three things, but I am going to reward myself with a new Swig if I do them until May 5th. Do I need another Swig tumbler? Absolutely not! Do I love the newest patterns? So, so much!!
Today is day 1 of 19. Hopefully by day 19 these three things will be a habit again and I won’t think twice about them. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Same! I am so tired in the mornings lately! I really need to goal set like you have done.
Very inspiring! I am doing my best to get outside as much as possible too- walking, etc- thanks for the motivation 🙂
Good luck! I was just thinking something very similar this afternoon. I really need to get back into moving my body more as I always feel best on those days too.
Great goals! I love your Dolly tank! 😆 I’m tracking my workouts this month to keep myself accountable. I’m trying to have very few skip days…at least getting a walk in. So far, so good.
