Christmas Books 2022

Oh I am so excited about this post! I love just about everything about Christmas – the decorations, the music, the lights, the presents, the traditions, the movies, the time with friends and family – and combining that with books has me giddy! I started reading Christmas books a few weeks ago and they make me so happy. I have a printable bookmark to share again this year. I’ve printed it on cardstock and am using it to mark my spot in a fun Christmas book. I am actually reading two right now!

Before we get started with new books for this year, I want to share my tried and true favorites with you. I know I can rely on these books and authors to put me in the Christmas spirit. They are fun reads and usually full of joy.

Elin Hilderbrand never steers me wrong. Her Winter Street series is perfect to read this time of year. I love following the Quinn family and how they prepare for and celebrate Christmas. I am hoping to get to Winter Stroll weekend on Nantucket one of these years!

About 15 years ago a parent of a kindergartener in my class introduced me to the Jeff Guinn Santa Chronicles trilogy. I loved all three of these books and have gifted them throughout the years to friends, family, and colleagues.

I really love when some of my Summer Beach Reads authors span the calendar and write Christmas books. Dorothea Benton Frank, Mary Kay Andrews, Nancy Thayer, Mary Alice Monroe, Kristy Woodson Harvey, Jenny Colgan, Susan Mallery, and Jenny Hale keep that fun beachy read going with their Christmas books.

Now that I’ve some of my old favorites, let’s get to the new Christmas books for 2022!!

All I Want for Christmas by Maggie Knox

I loved The Holiday Swap last year and All I Want for Christmas is just as good!

One Last Gift by Emily Stone

Always, In December was one of my favorites last year and I am looking forward to One Last Gift this year.

Just Like Magic by Sarah Hogle

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Jenny Bayliss

This is the third Jenny Bayliss book for me. I loved The Twelve Dates of Christmas and A Season for Second Chances.

The Christmas Spirit by Debbie Macomber

I just finished listening to Twelve Days of Christmas and enjoyed Merry and Bright. Debbie Macomber’s Christmas books are always uplifting!

Home Sweet Christmas by Susan Mallery

There’s Something About Merry by Codi Hall

This is the second book in the Mistletoe Romance series. Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist is first. I just finished There’s Something About Merry and it was so fun!

Love Always, Christmas by Karen Schaler

Karen Schaler’s books read just like Hallmark movies and I love them. I’ve read Christmas Camp, Christmas Camp Wedding, Finding Christmas, and Christmas Ever After. I can’t wait to read Love Always, Christmas!

Let It Snow by Beth Moran

You’re a Mean One Matthew Prince by Timothy Janovsky

A Murder at Balmoral by Chris McGeorge

As you’ve read I already started reading Christmas books and I have a bunch to enjoy during December! I get my Christmas books in a variety of ways – NetGalley, my indie bookstore, and the library. My 2021 Christmas book list and 2020 Christmas book list may have a shorter waitlist if you are looking for something to read right now. If you are not thinking Christmas books, you can check out my Books 2022 list for something I’ve enjoyed this year!

I’m off to read A Magical New York Christmas by Anita Hughes or Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Jenny Bayliss.

Have a great day full of sunshine and CHRISTMAS books!
