We had a great weekend, but today I’m sharing what happened last week. My kids headed to Camp Gigi! Gigi is what my kids call my mom. When I head back to work for teacher week, my mom takes the boys and plans a fun week. We call it Camp Gigi and this is the 9th year. They always have a great time, but this year was even better! My parents picked them up on Monday morning and brought them back on Thursday afternoon. The kids knew they needed golf clothes and bathing suits, but that is it until they hit the road.

This year they went to Massenutten resort in Virginia. They had the absolute best time! On Monday, they played golf and rode/drove go carts. They had dinner at the ski slopes base camp that evening.

On Tuesday, they went tubing and zip lining on the ski slopes. Then they hit the water park. There were a bunch of slides, a lazy river, and a few rides on the Flow Rider.

On Wednesday, they went to the top of the mountain. They also played Fling golf for the first time. It’s so fun! They finished off the day with go carts, ice cream, putt putt, and a delicious Italian dinner.

On Thursday, they checked out and headed to Harrisonburg. They went to the Waffle House and visited the JMU bookstore. They also stopped at Mr. J’s and picked up a bagel to bring home for me. I love Mr. J’s bagels and had the best breakfast on Friday morning.

Friday was Give Back day. They filled the van with after school snacks for the Boys & Girls Club. After a yummy hot dog lunch, they headed to the Bus Stop for extreme milkshakes.

I am so grateful that my mom plans such a fun week for the boys. They look forward to it all year, and so do I! It makes going back to work so much easier.

Today is our first day of school and I am excited! This is the first time I’ve driven to school by myself in 13 years. The kids went to daycare near my school or I’ve worked at their school. They’re heading to school together and riding the bus. I can’t wait to hear how Luke’s first day of middle school goes and Jack’s first day of 8th grade goes!
