Friday Favorites – 2/11/22

Happy Friday! I am loving all of the fun dates in February. Last week we had 2/2/22. Today is 2/11/22 which is a complete number sentence 2×11=22. Later in the month we have 2/22/22 on a Tuesday! I was planning on posting every day this week, but things got busy and I missed yesterday. I’ll have my Declare It Day celebration for you on Monday when Holly and I host Hello Monday, so be sure to come back then.

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: OLYMPICS!! I am staying up way too late and watching way more television than I normally do, but it is totally worth it! I love the Olympic spirit, the athletes’ stories, the medal ceremonies, and the competition. I cannot get enough!

I’ve been wearing my Olympic Rings necklace too. It was a custom design from Cora’s Den and I love it!

The only thing that is not an Olympics favorite is trying to wear my Olympic/USA clothing and my Valentines’ Day clothing at the same time! I’m doing my best!

Favorite 2: VAN GOGH!! For Christmas, we gave my parents, Jeff’s parents, and the boys tickets to the Van Gogh Experience. I’d heard mixed reviews but we loved it! We spent almost 2 hours in the exhibit. It was broken into three parts. The first part was like a typical museum, with cavases of Van Gogh’s artwork. There is a lot of information about each painting and Van Gogh’s life.

The second part is the immersive part where you are in the paintings. I thought it would be one painting projected at a time, but they used the work to tell a story and the were slightly animated to blend from one to another. It was really cool!

The third part was a coloring station and a virtual reality station. We put on an oculus-type headset and spent a day in the life of Van Gogh. There was also a selfie station to take a picture of yourself with big prints of Van Gogh’s most famous works.

Favorite 3: BOOKS!! I finished listening to The Day the World Came to Town and it was so good! I tend to get pretty emotional reading, talking, or thinking about 9/11, but this books was different. It was so positive and uplifting! I highly recommend it!

Favorite 4: SUNSHINE!! We had lovely February weather this week! The sun was shining and the temps got to the 50s. I took my after school tutoring group outside for their snack because that sun felt too good to be inside!

Favorite 5: WATCH BAND!! I ordered this band on a whim and I love it. As much as I love my sport bands for my watch, I do miss having a watch that is more like jewelry. I ordered the tortoise shell band and the nougat white band. I like them both but I will probably only keep the tortoise shell. I’m not sure I need two similar watch bands.

Favorite 6: STRAWBERRIES! It’s that time of year again – Plant City strawberries are in the grocery store!! Jeff’s grandmother taught me about Plant City strawberries years ago. They are always the best and they are the first sign that spring will be coming!

Favorite 7: NAPS!! I hardly every take a nap, but I did on Sunday. The Olympics were on and I was enjoying some couch time. I fell asleep for an hour and it was wonderful!

Favorite 8: NAILS!! I saw a cool multi-colored manicure on Amy’s blog the last week. I decided to give it a shot. It turned out fun, but I think I need a different shade of red. I need to take the polish off this weekend so I may redo it in a different order.

Favorite 9: RUNNING! I ran two times last week. I am not running very fast but I am loving every minute on my treadmill! I am happy to be back to the activity I love. Right now I am working on developing a schedule to incorporate my strength workouts with a regular running schedule.

We have a busy weekend coming up. Jack has 3 basketball games on Saturday and Luke has a swim meet and a basketball game. On Sunday, Jack is taking a fit kid certification class at the gym and Luke has his Lego League Robotics competition. I’m planning some yummy snacks for our Super Bowl menu in the new air fryer. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I love your mani and I think the red looks great! I like how you did the light pink, too! So cute! I love tortoise shell – like obsessed with it. I should have more, really. I just found out we are getting the VG experience here! I put my email on a list to be notified. So, I didn’t look too closely at those pics of yours so I would be surprised when I get to go – hopefully. I love art and my family does, too. Happy Weekend!

Your nails look great! I love that you have so much Olympic “stuff!” and get so into watching the events. I’ve been dying to check out that Van gogh experience; it looks amazing.
