Happy Friday! This week went so fast! We had an early dismissal day on Wednesday and it really broke up the week and made it fly by. I have some favorites from the week to share with you so let’s get to them!
Favorite 1: VACCINES!! Luke got his first vaccine!! He only pulled his mask down for a quick picture.
Favorite 2: CHRISTMAS BOOKS! I shared the Christmas books that I am looking forward to reading in the next seven weeks. I already started one and I’m loving it! Last year’s Christmas books post was a little different because it was my first one, so there are a lot of my old favorites and the new books that came out in 2020. Check out both posts for all the Christmas books you could ever want to read. I am really prioritizing my reading time to enjoy as many as I possibly can. Prioritizing reading time is a giant favorite!
Favorite 3: TURKEYS!! I love the turkeys that have popped up around my house! First, Brooks finally made a Thanksgiving shoe!! I have Christmas, snow/winter, St. Patrick’s Day, and 4th of July shoes and have been waiting for turkey trot shoes. I love them!!
I picked this little light up turkey up at Walmart years ago and he hangs on my kitchen window. I love when the sunlight shines through him and when it’s dark and the lights inside glow.
This guy is another old turkey. I got him at Walmart or Home Depot and he’s perfect on our porch. It’s time for the decorated pumpkins to go, but I’ll keep the uncarved pumpkins and gourds until November 26th.
Favorite 4: SUNSHINE!! The sun was putting on a show all week with these sunrises and sunsets! Each day was a little more beautiful than the one before!!
Favorite 5: CSA!! We did the CSA at our local farm for the first time this year and it was so wonderful!! We will definitely be back next year!!
Favorite 6: THANKSGIVING!! I am so ready for Thanksgiving this year. I love our traditions on Thanksgiving – turkey trot, parade, yummy dinner. I was feeling it this week with this Thanksgiving shirt and my turkey earrings. The necklace is my pumpkin necklace and I just took off the charm. The jewelry is all Cora’s Den and you can use code SUNSHINEANDBOOKS10 to save a little.
Favorite 7: SWIM MOM!! I shared a day in the life of a swim mom on Instagram last weekend. I shared it in my highlights if you want to check it out. I am sunnyscp on Instagram. 8I love being a swim mom and as a former swimmer I still get excited about swim meets! Being a 2021 swim mom is a little different because we can’t always go into the meets, but I still love it!
Favorite 8: FAMILY!! We went out to dinner on Saturday night and had the best time! It was nice to spend some time together and we laughed a bunch!

Let’s Look – Thanksgiving Menu
Luke has a soccer tournament this weekend and there are some basketball and swim practices thrown in there, too. I’m starting to plan some fun Christmas activities for the next 7 weeks and would love to hear fun new ways to look at Christmas lights. Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Love all of your turkeys but love that you are planning for Christmas- we go to the Stone Zoo near Boston to walk outside and look at all of the run light displays- my mom and I also go to an indoor Festival of Trees- you buy raffle tickets and can enter to win chance to win the trees- some you want because they are so pretty and others you want because they have awesome gift cards on them or prizes attached! Love that fam pic- glad you had a fun night together!
Thanks for the suggestion!!
Love your light up kitchen window turkey!
I’m solidifying my Thanksgiving menu this weekend.
Love all the sunset/rise pictures! Have a wonderful weekend.
What a fabulous week! I love all your sunrise and sunset photos. I was just thinking we haven’t gone out to eat as a family in quite some time. I’m hoping we get to do that soon. Have a great weekend!
Those turkey trot shoes are so cute! Between you and Andrea at Momfessionals I’m really starting to think I need to add a few cute turkey’s to our fall decor for Thanksgiving.
Those shoes! I hope you wear them to school a lot before Turkey Day! Swim mom seems brutal! I am sweating just thinking about the warm venue and the chlorine smell! I do love that smell! Happy weekend!
Oh, I love the swim mom life! I was a swimmer so it feels so fun! With CoVID we aren’t allowed to go in for meets so we watch on YouTube and hang in the car, so I just enjoy the chlorine smell on the ride home.
