Happy Friday! I am so glad that it is Friday! It was a back to life, back to reality sort of week. After being home all last week with Luke, who was a close contact but tested negative and was fine, I had to get back into the routine of being a working mom. I’m back in the groove and ready to share some favorites.
Favorite 1: LUKE!! We celebrated Luke on Sunday and Monday. He was so excited for his new scooter and bike! Somehow he convinced me that he needed three birthday treats – one Sunday with family, one at soccer practice on Monday, and one for his birthday candles on Monday at home. It has been a delicious few days around here but I think we are ready for a sugar detox between Jack’s birthday, Easter, and Luke’s birthday.

Favorite 2: JACK!! Jack has been playing a bunch of baseball lately and it has been so fun to watch him play! He’s been pitching, playing first base, and in the outfield. I am so proud of how hard he’s working and how much he’s improving as a player. We’ve also had a lot of time together in the car. I am loving our conversations and his perspective on topics.

Favorite 3: SUNSHINE!! I decided to start running again! I went for my first on purpose run this week in the gorgeous sunshine!

I also loved this yellow lemon necklace with the warm sunshine on my cheeks!

Favorite 4: GREENS!! My favorite nail polish colors are opaque pale colors. I picked up this green and I love it!! My ring is a fun one from Stella & Dot.

I loved how these monogram earrings matched my Masters green gear. My dad got to go this year and brought home this fabulous quarter zip. It’s some comfy!

Favorite 5: GREAT IDEAS!! We were celebrating Jamie’s birthday two weeks ago and Kerry had her birthday candles in a mason jar. I thought it was the best idea! You always know what candles you have and they aren’t scattered in baggies in the pantry. They look pretty too!

Favorite 6: BOOKS! I have been reading up a storm lately. The list of books nominated for the Black-Eyed Susan Award for the 2021-22 school year was release last week. So far I’ve read a few graphic novels, most of the picture books, and I am on my second novel. I love children’s books, of course because I am an elementary school librarian, so it’s been a really fun week of reading! I also picked up a few of the 6-9th grade nominees for Jack to start reading.

Happy Birthday Luke!

We have a fairly normal weekend planned. Luke has soccer and lacrosse. Jack has baseball and swim. Jeff and Jack will try to squeeze in 9 holes if the weather holds up. I’m going to visit the pool 😎 and cheer everyone on all weekend long! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Hope your sweet boy had the best birthday! So happy for you and your running and love the nail color- have a great weekend Sarah!
Happy birthday! Love the candles in a mason jar and I love mason jars so it makes a fun decor item, too!
I like Luke’s thinking with all the celebrating! Your ring is so pretty and I love the lemon necklace. And I’m stealing the candle idea. Genius. Have a great weekend!
Birthday candles in a mason jar is genius! I love that Luke talked you into multiple treats for his birthday– that’s so smart of him.
He’s a thinker, that one!
Glad your sweet boy is ok and looks like an awesome celebration in his honor!
