Friday Favorites – 5/22/20

Happy Friday! I am so ready for Friday and a 3 day weekend! We won’t be relaxing at the pool or enjoying the annual Memorial Day parade like usual, but I am looking forward to an extra day without any computer requirements. I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share my favorites from the week.

Favorite 1: READING!! I know that my favorite is usually books, but this week our reading extends past books. I went into school two times to start checking in the teacher’s books as they are closing up their rooms and to start closing up the Media Center for summer. Luke requested as many Scooby Doo magazines/comic books as I could bring home. He is loving them!

I am reading 3 books right now, which is so out of the ordinary for me. I am usually a one book at a time reader. I am listening to The Cactus by Sarah Haywood on Hoopla through our library. It will be removed from my phone on May 29th so the pressure is on to listen to it quick. I am reading Musical Chairs by Amy Poeppel. It doesn’t come out until July, but I am liking it more than Small Admissions. I am also reading Operation Frog Effect by Sarah Scheerger for school.

Favorite 1A: BOOKS!! I couldn’t let a Friday Favorites post pass without a books favorite. I started a new series this week – Tuesday Book Release Day – to share the new books coming out that day. Check it out! I was also so excited to get a mention on Tanya’s blog sharing places to find great books to read. Thanks!

Favorite 2: FAMILY!! Like most people, we have been spending a ton of time together! This week the boys played a mean game of 1-on-1 in the driveway and Jeff and I cheered them on.

Favorite 3: CIRCUITS!! Luke and I got out our snap circuits sets on Thursday afternoon. He had the best time creating the circuits in the book and then making his own. It was fun to hear all the songs and noises made with it. I think Luke would’ve played through dinner and all the way to bedtime if we hadn’t stopped him to eat and come inside when it got dark.

Favorite 4: MAIL!! Luke finished up his birthday thank you notes this week and wanted to ride his bike to the mailbox. I usually don’t let them ride their bikes to get the mail because I am absolutely certain that half our mail would end up all over the street. He was excited to ride to the mailbox and post his notes.

I had a fun mail delivery this week. A few weeks ago, Lilly Pulitzer had a sale where you could get up to 50% off, including current seasons’ clothing. That is totally unheard of and I took advantage of it. I love everything I got, but this necklace set has gotten the most wear. It’s perfect for me, golden sun!!

Favorite 5: RUNNING!! I am returning to running after my 1200 day Run Streak ended. I decided to do a Couch to 5k to restart and I like it a lot. I am still clocking about 5 miles every day in a run/walk combination, but the running feels so good!

I’ve fallen down the deep hole of planner videos on YouTube. It started with a few innocent reviews of the new Erin Condren Daily Duo and ballooned into watching people write their days or weeks in the planner and what stickers they pick to decorate/accessorize the pages. Has anyone ordered the new Daily Duo yet? Did you get it? I’m curious to see how much lighter one of the Daily Duo books than the 18 month Life Planner. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I plan on ordering next week. Hopefully by July 1, I’ll have something to write in it!

Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

We just got a shipment of books in today for my middle son who is an avid reader. He was so excited… and I’m sure he’ll finish them all up by the end of the weekend. Have you watched Scoob? It looks pretty cute.
