Friday Favorites – 7/31/26

Happy Friday! I am seriously not okay with this being the last day of July! We start school one month from today and that feels way too soon! I go back on August 24th and that is way way too soon. I will keep on summering through September but it gets a little harder when I am trapped inside at work all day. I have a bunch of favorites for you today, so let’s get to it!!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: ICE!! Jack got his wisdom teeth taken out on Wednesday morning and this ice pack was so helpful. I don’t have any pictures of it in action because Jack wasn’t feeling pictures, but it has been wonderful. It was pretty inexpensive and I highly recommend it to anyone that is having their wisdom teeth removed.

Favorite 2: ALASKA!! I am still enjoying our Alaskan trip. I shared our day in Glacier Bay National Park yesterday. It was incredibly beautiful! Go check out those pictures!

Favorite 3: BOOKS!! I am loving my summer reading list! I read quite a few books from my Summer Beach Reads list and shared my opinions this week. I am reading a backlist book from Jenny Colgan right now because I missed it last summer. I’m not sure how I missed this book, but I am happy to be reading it now!

Favorite 4: SUMMER SWIM!! Our summer swim season ended on Saturday night and I am sad it’s over. The last week can be a doozy with three meets in six days. I have no voice left, but I am happy. I absolutely love summer swim. It is truly a family sport. It is one of the only sports where 4 year olds and 18 year olds are on the same team, compete together, and cheer for each other. I love coaching with my kids and some fantastic teenagers. I love coaching kids and watching them grow over the 8 week season. It is just so fun!!

The league championship meet was Wednesday. Coaches get priority seating, but I cannot sit down during a meet. I think it’s better for the swimmers to rest their legs for a bit. Coach Luke was swimming and coaching that day. The coach shirt comes with perks – free meal ticket and access to the pool deck.
Our last meet of 2026
I spend most of our meets like this – cheering as loud as I can!
Or this – celebrating a great swim!
Coach Jack was playing poker with some teammates between events.
Saturday night at the banquet is always a good time! My dress is a favorite!

Favorite 5: JEWELRY!! It was love at first sight when I spotted this necklace on Tracy Smith on CBS Sunday morning. I don’t use it often, but Google Lens came in very handy and led me right to the necklace on Nordstrom’s website. Luckily, I had a gift card so that necklace arrived at my house the other day! I am still in love!! It’s the perfect Sarah necklace!

Please note I was wearing real clothes! These sandals are a new favorite, too!

I am loving this bracelet too! I gathered this on our cruise. You could get the bracelet and the first few charms on the first day at sea. After that, there was one charm available each day. I know it’s probably a tourist trap type souvenier, but I love a charm bracelet and we saw or did everything on the charms except the moose.

Charms right to left: moose, totem, polar bear, whale fluke, Alaska heart, star/sun, blue bead, wave, camera

Hello Monday
Reading Lately
Glacier Bay National Park

We have a low key weekend planned. I’m sure we’ll spend some time at the pool. Jack is hoping to feel well enough to lifeguard, but if he can’t Luke will fill in for him. We are going to see Jeff’s family for breakfast on Sunday. We haven’t seen them in a few months so that will be nice. I’m hoping to swim some laps, read, relax, and go for a walk both days. I hope August comes in very slowly with lots of fun! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I love your trip charm bracelet! Touristy things that remind you of your trip and fun are always worth it. I still have a tanzanite ring from our honeymoon that we picked up on one of the islands and each time I wear it I think of our cruise and the places we stopped.

Soak it up Summer Sarah- soak it up! I expect to see some beach time before you head back to school. Can you believe we haven’t been yet? It has been one thing after another- my goal is to change that in the next week!

Ouch to Jack getting his wisdom teeth out. Your trip to Alaska looks amazing and the swimming sounds like such a wonderful activity! The bracelet and how cool to collect the charms each day.

I love the Salt Waters. I had the original in red and ended up selling them. I wish I hadn’t! Your hair has gotten so light and you are so tan! Keep summering!

We used that ice pack with my son and it was so helpful. We didn’t have it when my daughter had hers out, and the frozen peas just didn’t do the trick!

You still have so much summer left…but your Aug 1 feels like my July 1st haha
Love all the swim team photos and that it’s a family affair. Glad that Jack’s wisdom teeth extraction was easy overall …we did that last summer…easy for Hayden but more difficult for Hadley. Enjoy your weekend!
