Hello Monday – 8/4/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I cannot believe it is already August and I go back to work in three weeks! YIKES!! Time needs to slow down!

I am embracing all the summer things and working hard to remember that September is still summer so we have months of summering to go! I have EIGHT GREAT things to share about our weekend today.

1-My sister came to visit on Thursday night and Luke and I popped over to my parents’ for dinner. It was so great to see them!

2-When we woke up Friday morning, we saw that a big branch had fallen in the storms on Thursday. It was dead and I was worried about it falling when someone was playing out there so I was thrilled. The boys and I were able to drag it into the brush and take care of it.

Look how tall the corn behind our house is getting!!

3-Friday wasn’t much of a pool day so we stayed home and got some things done. My parents brought my neice Maggie over to play with our neighbor and then we all headed back to my parents’ house for dinner.

4-On Saturday, I met my sister, brother-in-law, and neice at the library. We played for a bit and I picked up my book for completing the summer reading program. It’s not too late to sign up!

5-Then headed to the pool. Jack was working and we played for a bit. It has been quite a while since I played in the shallow end and it is still fun!

6-I was reminiscing a bit on Saturday looking at pictures from the last time we saw the Savannah Bananas. My sister was living in Hilton Head at the time and they were still playing mostly regular baseball. Look how little the boys were! This was pre-blogging time!

7-We lucked into great seats for the Savannah Bananas on Saturday night. It was perfect weather and we had an absolute blast! Jeff’s brother and our nephew came with us. We saw a bunch of friends and the Bananas won with a walk off homer!

8-On Sunday, we went to the American Girl store. My mom wanted to take my niece and asked if I wanted to go with them and my sister. I sure did! It was so cute! Maggie picked out a great doll and got a matching outfit. We had lunch at the cafe and they acted like it was Maggie’s birthday. My mom never told them it was her birthday but we played along. It was a great day!

How was your weekend? Are you still summering hard in August? I hope so! I am hoping to get back to making dinners and lunches this week. It’s going to be a rude awakening, but it needs to happen. I want to include a lot of fresh fruits and veggies and flavorful marinades for protein. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

We watched the Savannah Bananas game on Saturday! How fun! I can’t ever seem to snag tickets. It’s crazy how popular they are.
I was so sad when our American Girl store closed after Covid. Those were some sweet memories! Have a great week!

That sounds like such a fun weekend! We had a great date night and went out for ice cream twice so it was definitely a delicious weekend.

Awww The American Girl store is a right of passion for girls 🙂 So sweet- so glad you were there to witness it. What a great weekend for you all to be together. I have heard of Savannah’s Bananas- sounds like a fun family night!

I have an attic full of American Girl dolls and all their furniture too (thanks to my mom). I can’t wait to pass them along to my granddaughters. I’ve been to the NYC store but never with a little girl in tow so look forward to that too. The Savannah Bananas were in our area not long ago but we were out of town. Everyone raved about it. I’m with you on summer. My birthday is only a few days before the official end of summer but I still say I have a summer birthday. It often feels like fall by then. Have a nice weekend!
