Happy Thursday! I missed the first Wednesday of the month, so I am linking up with Jennifer today to share five things I am currently doing. Each month we share five different things and I think it’s a fun way to think about what’s going on.

I am loving…
LOVE! Today is my parents’ 49th anniversary! You do not stay married for 49 years without a lot of love. They have taught us so much about love, raising a family, being a wife/husband, and how to have fun doing it. Happy anniversary Mom and Dad! I love you!

I love that picture of them from our 2013 vacation and this one from Jeff’s and my wedding.

Summer reading! I finished a great book this week and am in the middle of another good one. I am hoping to read a few more books from my Summer Beach Reads list this month.

This feels weird to say, but I am loving the two cloudy days we had this week because I have gotten a bunch done around the house. I tackled our office and my desk in there. It looks much better and I recycled so many papers.
I am loving the close the box game. It is a quick game to play and is good for putting your phone down and having quick conversations that keep going. We are making up new rules to play and it makes for fun little pockets of time with the boys that I am loving.

I am looking forward to…
The new school year, just not quite yet. I am excited for Luke to start high school. I am excited to for Jack’s junior year. I am excited for Jeff’s first year back in athletics.
I am looking forward to getting back into the library, just not quite yet. I start thinking about school things in August and sometimes it’s eases my mind to just get in there.
I am scheduling…
FUN! I want to do a few more things this summer and scheduling is the way to make sure we can do it.
I am also scheduling my days to make sure I can make it all work together. Nothing super exciting but making sure I can get Jack to work or the golf course, get Luke to the track and the pool, make sure we have dinner, get a workout in, etc.
I do need to schedule some time to sit down with my planner to get it all set up for the school year. It hasn’t happened yet, but I might take advantage of some time this morning when Luke is at soccer and Jack is at golf.
I am buying…
All the school things! Jack and Luke are going to a new school this year and they need a bunch for their new uniforms.
I am gearing up for…
The great room switch of 2025. Jack decided that he no longer wants a loft bed and would like to move into the guest room. Luke decided he would like to move into Jack’s room because it is a little bigger. So the guest room needs to move to Luke’s room. We started on Tuesday by cleaning out dressers and that snowballed into a much bigger job than I was anticipating. I have no idea how Luke had so many clothes in his drawers or that so many didn’t fit him well anymore. I spent Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon sorting all of the clothes (consign, donate, giveaway, save) and starting the process of getting them out of the house.

The next project will be emptying the guest room closet. I keep my Lilly collection, shorts/skorts, vests, long dresses, and bags in there. The closet in Luke’s room is much smaller, about half the size, and I need to figure this out. Luke has a lot of “treasures” in his room and I would like to pare that down a bit before we moves things. I am hoping to get this all finished in the next week but it might take longer if we get more sunny days.
That was fun! I have 18 days until I go back to work and the boys start school. We are going to keep the summer feelings going strong until then. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Wow that sounds like a lot of work swapping out all the rooms but I bet they are both going to love having “new” rooms! I have been really enjoying my summer reading this year too. Happy Anniversary to your parents!
Happy anniversary to your parents! 49…wow! The great room switch – love it. I guess it gives you a chance to purge but I’m sure it’s a headache…but worth it in the end. I love that you said you are scheduling fun! Enjoy your 18 days 🙂
Love how you are looking forward to school but squeezing in some more summer fun -we feel the same exact way here! 🙂
The room swap sounds like quite a project! At least it is a good way to go through their clothes etc. and donate. My kids (college) still have clothes here at home, and most of them could probably go in the donate pile!
such a sweet anniversary photo of your parents – congrats to them! That game looks like a fun one to add to our collection. I miss back-to-school planning and shopping in some ways. The great room swap looks like a big project – hope it’s going well and that the remainder of your summer is awesome!
