Friday Favorites – 6/20/25

Happy Friday! Happy first day of summer! This is the longest day of the year and I am going to celebrate with at least 8 hours at the pool. Woohoo! I have some favorites to share with you so let’s get to it.

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: SUMMER SARAH!! She is officially here! I spent 8 hours at the pool yesterday between swim team and hanging out and I am hoping to do the same if not more today! It was absolutely glorious!

Favorite 2: BOOKS! I am reading like crazy but not making a ton of progress in my Summer Beach Read. I finished another kids book that was riveting and now I am ready to dive into my Summer Beach Reads. I am in the middle of Fever Beach right now. It is classic Carl Hiaasen and I love it!

Favorite 3: LIBRARY! It was such a good feeling to leave the library ready for August. The computer carts are all over the place, but the shelves and other materials are in great library order. It was the first year in a while that I wasn’t rushing out and shoving things in drawers for August Sarah to deal with.

Favorite 4: GOLF!! Jack and Luke played golf with my dad and some of his friends this week. They ended up playing as a five-some so Dad, Jack, and Luke walked. My dad sent me these great pictures of the brothers!

Favorite 5: DINNER! Our swim team has two evening practices a week. Jeff was going to pick Jack up from club swim practice and Jack needed to eat right away. So, I left directions for Luke to cook some chicken sausage and pasta. He did a great job and I enjoyed dinner when I got home from practice.

Favorite 6: STRATEGY!! I took advantage of a rainy afternoon on Wednesday to make our swim meet lineup. I haven’t set an entire lineup for this many swimmers ever! I was using my notes from practice and time trials, results from time trials, and times from last season. It took me a few hours, but Jack helped for some of it. I am hoping everything goes well at the meet on Saturday!

Hello Monday
Eight Great
Wednesday Hodgepodge

I am hoping to get in a little better routine next week. I need to figure out the best way to get everyone where they need/want to be without driving up and down our main road a hundred times a day. I also need to figure out how to structure my day to get a good bit of exercise, relaxing, coaching, and preparing for swim practice. That sounds like more planning than Summer Sarah is used to. Ha! It will be great! We are facing a heat wave this week and I am ready for it. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I had never read a Carl Hiaasen book before but saw it on your summer reading graphic and it was free on our library’s Libby app so I gave it a shot and thought it was such a wild and crazy listen. Enjoy your day at the pool! I hope to sit out on the deck and read– a lot.
