Friday Favorites – 8/2/24

Happy Friday! Happy August! I cannot believe it is already August. July went too fast, and August better not get any ideas. Slow down summer! I have a bunch of favorites for you, so let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: OLYMPICS!! Oh my goodness, the Olympics have been so good! I love cheering for Team USA and my flag finally came. I ordered it during the swimming Olympic trials in June and it took its sweet time getting here.

I have been watching as much coverage as possible! I can add triathlon to my sports watched list taking my total to 28 sports watched. I am using the Peacock categories to name the sports so I don’t get confused. Swimming is my favorite sport to watch and it takes hold of every day from 2:30-4:30 pm. Yesterday, Sarah Sjostrom’s gold medal swim in the 100m freestyle brought tears to my eyes. I’ve watched her swim for years and her joy after the swim was amazing!

I’m not sure what is going to happen to my Instagram feed on August 12th because it is all Olympics related content now. I’m loving the women’s rugby and water polo coverage in and out of competition. If you need me in the next 9 days, I’ll be watching the Olympics and cheering on all the athletes!

Favorite 2: GOLF! Jack has been playing in golf tournaments throughout the summer and I finally got to one yesterday. It was so fun to watch him play. He had quite a few high school teammates there and they had a nice get together afterwards.

After a great chip, Jack left himself with a very short putt!

Jeff and I had a lovely 18 hole walk together, too!

Luke was on the course on Thursday with my dad. He got to spend the night at my parents and play golf with Pop. They had a great time and Luke is now breaking 100 pretty consistently. For a kid who doesn’t golf a ton, he’s doing so well.

Favorite 3: POOL! It wouldn’t be a summer week if the pool wasn’t my favorite! This has been a quiet week at the pool because swim team is over and a lot of families go on vacation. I decided to try my diving board flip this week. Good news: this old girl still has it. I did my annual front flip and a backflip this year, too! Our assistant manager hopped in the pool to play with some of the kids this week and I caught this cute picture.

Favorite 4: TREATS!! Luke’s swim team buddy gave him all the fixin’s for s’mores. We decided to make them on Tuesday. They were so yummy and Luke lost a tooth in his s’more. Hooray!

I was at my parents on Wednesday night for dinner and we went to Hoffman’s for dessert. Hoffman’s mint chocolate chip ice cream is my absolute favorite. I don’t get it often, so Wednesday was a perfect treat!

Favorite 5: LIBRARY! I use our library online quite a bit with Libby and placing holds. Luke and I went to the library the other day and he picked out this book. I can’t wait to hear what he thinks of the book.

Favorite 6: PLANNER!! Even though I am not thrilled that it’s August, I am excited about my new planner. I got a 12 month planner this year, instead of my usual 18 month planner. I was hoping it would be a little lighter (it is) and it still has everything I need. I use the Erin Condren planner and always have so much fun picking out my new cover.

Hello Monday
Reading Lately – 9 great books!
What’s Up Wednesday

I am looking forward to this weekend. The weather looks doesn’t look great for pool days, but I am sure we will be there for a few hours. I am still working through cleaning out a few areas in the house (Thanks for the inspiration Amy!) Cloudy days lend themselves to that, so I might get some of that done this weekend, too. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I just went to my library yesterday to pick up my holds and found that I won a gift certificate for a local pizza joint from their summer reading program… I’m pretty sure well be using that for dinner tonight! It sounds like you’ve had another wonderful summer week!
