Happy Wednesday! It’s the last Wednesday of the month so I am sharing what we’ve been up to. I am also joining Joyce for the Wednesday Hodgepodge questions. Lots to share today so let’s get to it!I
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…

WHAT I’M LOVING…
All the summer things!!
The summer swim season was so much fun!

Beach time!

Pool days!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…
Luke and I have been hitting the track as much as possible to get ready for soccer season.

I have been watching as much Olympic coverage as possible.

I spent a fun afternoon on a 20 foot waterslide!

Jack has been lifeguarding quite a bit and playing golf when he’s not at the pool.

WHAT I’M DREADING…
Even though I love my job, I am dreading going back to school. I just love summer and the easy breezy days so much!
WHAT I’M WORKING ON…
My new planner starts tomorrow and I am getting all the events in it.
I have been going through the kids’ closets, my closet, our school supplies, and the pantry cleaning everything out. Getting rid of things we aren’t using or do not need anymore.
I am always doing a little work for our pool as the membership chair. It isn’t a ton of work, but there is always something to do.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT…
August! We have a lot of fun things planned in August and I am looking forward to them all!
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…
I am watching nothing but the Olympics from the time I wake up until I turn off the tv to go to bed. I love that I can watch everything live and not have to stay up super late to see it all on prime time. I’ve watched fencing, swimming, badminton, table tennis, tennis, surfing, diving, field hockey, soccer, rugby, water polo, beach volleyball, skateboarding, equestrian, archery, basketball, volleyball, shooting, judo, sailing, cycling, gymnastics, boxing, rowing, and canoeing.
I pause every day from 2:30-4:30 and watch every swimming semifinals and finals live no matter where I am.

I shared my July reads yesterday and there are NINE great books on there. Most of them are from my Summer Beach Reads list. I have quite a few more to read in August and I am up for the challenge. It’s probably the best kind of challenge there can be!

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…
We just got tickets to see The Wheeland Brothers next month so I have been listening to a bunch of their music. If you haven’t heard of them, they are a fun beachy duo and have the perfect summertime music.

I’m listening to the sound of splashing and fun at the pool as much as I can!
WHAT I’M WEARING…
I’ve had so many days with my favorite outfit routine – pjs, exercise clothes, bathing suit, pjs – and those are always good days!
I picked up this skort for swim meets and it’s perfect! I will definitely get another color if they go on sale. My friend Kelly got the skort first and I immediatly asked her to share that link. It is so comfy and has cute pleats across the back.

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…
Full disclosure, I had to get my calendar out to answer this question because I have absolutely no idea what we are doing this weekend.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…
I am going to THREE concerts next month! We are going back to the beach for a few days! Jack has a few golf tournaments and Luke has a soccer play day and maybe a tournament! Long pool days!

1. What is a childhood habit or preference you will never outgrow?
I love swimming and reading! I will never outgrow that!
2. Did you know July is beans month? What’s your favorite bean? Your favorite recipe that calls for beans? When it comes to chili are you team beans or team no beans?
I like black beans in my tacos, quesadillas, and chili. I also like green beans raw and warm with sunshine straight from the garden. I do not like any other beans at all.
3. Some historical figures have a tag line after their name, something like ‘the brave’ or ‘the wise’ or ‘the mad’…what would your tag line be? Explain why?
I would be Sarah the questioner because I ALWAYS have a question to ask. I might also be Sarah the Olympic hopeful. I am pretty sure I will not qualify for the Olympics, but I remain hopeful.
4. The way to my heart is taking me to the beach.
5. The calendar rolls into August this week, but before we go give us four adjectives that describe your July.
Hot, fun, sunny, outside
6. Insert your own random thought here.
In our house, August 1st is school supply day. I don’t even look at the school supply aisles before then. After we buy them, I bag everything up and hide it in the guest room closet until the week before school starts.
Well, now I feel like you know every single thing we’ve done this month. It’s been busy and fun! I am looking forward to a few days without a practice to mosey through our day and get to things as we get to them. Our August calendar has a lot to look forward and some totally free days. I’ll be back on Friday with my favorites from the week. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

It has been a busy summer and you definitey do summer good! 3 concerts sounds fun. Have a good day!
I do love a new planner : ) I love books and swimming too. Kids go back to school here tomorrow which feels like the middle of the summer to me. I guess it all evens out with the days in, but this feels incredibly early to me. I do like the lake in August though because its so quiet. Have a great day!
I love new planners! I hope the transition back to school goes smoothly & you have a great year! Have a great time at your concerts next month! I love going to concerts.
What an incredible summer and sounds like August will be just as fun! Love your Olympics watching at the pool- that’s the way to do it!
I normally wait until the last min to buy school supplies but this year, I got my daughter’s way ahead. For the boys, I’m not buying until the 8th!
It sounds like you have had a wonderful summer and August promises to be much of the same. I am loving all these beach and pool photos!!
Love all your beach pics. Your long sleeve cover up is so cute! It just dawned on me that we haven’t even thought about school supplies 😂admittedly, they don’t need as much for high school, but we should probably buy a few things. Haha
I remember those days well. Getting school clothes and supplies was a big part of it, and with three sons, there was also soccer practice to add to the mix. When I was a kid, we didn’t need to buy much for school—just a binder, some paper, and a few pencils. Nowadays, it seems like they expect you to spend a lot more money on school supplies.
Even though it was hectic back then, I have good memories of the beginning of the school year.
You are an active bunch for sure! I’m visiting from the Hodgepodge. Black beans have really found their place in the culinary world. I never even heard of a black bean growing up in Southern California but pinto beans were the king! 🙂
Have fun getting those supplies tomorrow!
What a fun post. I enjoyed your answers. We are not swimmers here, but enjoyed watching that sport in the olympics. I’m going to check out your post about your read in July. Catching up on commenting.
