Happy Tuesday! I am linking up with Joanne for Talking About It Tuesdays and the Share Your Shelf ladies (Joanne, Tanya, Marilyn, and Jenn) to show you the books I read this month. Get excited! This was an incredible month of reading!!

SPY SCHOOL BRITISH INVASION BY STUART GIBBS (audio)

Luke and I loved this installment of the Spy School series. It starts in Mexico, goes to London, and ends up in Paris. We’ve been talking a lot about Paris with the Olympics coming so it was a great connection. If it is any indication of how Luke feels about the series, when I offered a few books to listen to next, he picked another Spy School book.
THE CHEAT SHEET BY SARAH ADAMS ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

This book actually came before The Rule Book, but I read them out of order. It was totally fine to read in this order. This was a fun summer book about two best friends that have no idea that they have been in love with each other since high school. Bree is a dance instructor and Nathan is a star NFL quarterback. Their friendship took a break through college and is back stronger than ever. I bet you can figure out what happens, and it was fun to watch Bree and Nathan get to their happy every after.
FUNNY STORY BY EMILY HENRY ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
**SUNSHINE AND BOOKS 2024 SUMMER BEACH READ**

I loved this book! I always love when a character picks herself up by her bootstraps and figures things out. In this book Daphne’s fiance dumps her after moving her to his hometown and has the nerve to kick her out of the house. She moves in with her fiance’s new fiancee’s ex-boyfriend temporarily. There is also a good bit of family drama in the story, which I love. In addition, Daphne is a children’s librarian. What could be better? This is a great summer read!
SUMMERS AT THE SAINT BY MARY KAY ANDREWS ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
**SUNSHINE AND BOOKS 2024 SUMMER BEACH READ**

Mary Kay Andrews has done it again! I love her mysteries and this might be my favorite book yet. I loved the location and the big pink building of St. Cecelia. This is a story full of family drama and a bunch of summer beach action. There is some love, old friendships, and a few bad boys. I read this book in two days and highly recommend this book to everyone!
SUMMER ROMANCE BY ANNABEL MONAGHAN ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
**SUNSHINE AND BOOKS 2024 SUMMER BEACH READ**

I loved Annabel Monaghan’s previous books and this one is fantastic too! Ali’s life is a mess. Her mom died two years ago and she is still grieving for her, her husband left her, she’s a professional organizer but her house is chaos, and she hasn’t worn hard pants in a very long time. She has a chance meeting with Ethan at the dog park and it’s as embarrassing as it is fantastic. Ethan and Ali meet again unexpectedly and Ali realizes that a summer romance might be just what she needs. I loved how Ethan and Ali find a shared history and help each other in the exact way they need. It is a perfect summer romance, and maybe more.
THE SUMMER WE STARTED OVER BY NANCY THAYER ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
**SUNSHINE AND BOOKS 2024 SUMMER BEACH READ**

I read this book in two days on the beach and was sad when it ended. This is another good family drama book. Eddie Grant decides to take a vacation from her glamourous NYC job to help her sister launch her store on Nantucket. She is looking forward to a little down time, spending time with family, and enjoying Nantucket. Well, she gets time with family and enjoys Nantucket, but there is not much down time. She arrives to discover that her father is hoarding books and opens a used bookstore on their property. She rekindles a friendship with her past love and helps her sister in the store and at home. The house fills up quickly as her boss joins her and a beloved friend from the past. There is some sadness but it is a story full of love for family, friends, yourself, and Nantucket. It was great!
HAPPY MEDIUM BY SARAH ADLER ☀️☀️☀️☀️
**SUNSHINE AND BOOKS 2024 SUMMER BEACH READ**

This was fun to read because it took place very close to my house. Gretchen is a fake spirit medium in DC when she is tasked to visit a farm in rural Maryland to do an exorcism. That’s a little tricky when she has no idea how to do it, has already been paid a lot of money, and the farm’s owner wants nothing to do with her. Her initial goal is to help Charlie, the farmer, sell his farm but quickly realizes that she absolutely cannot do that. Gretchen has to figure out how to keep the farm in Charlie’s family and keep Charlie alive. Luckily she has help from the farm’s resident ghost, Everett. It is a good summer book, and not at all scary or spooky.
A HAPPIER LIFE BY KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
**SUNSHINE AND BOOKS 2024 SUMMER BEACH READ**

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! After reading Kristy’s Peachtree Bluff series and this book, I would love to go to Beaufort. It seems like the greatest coastal town! Keaton’s life in NYC has just been torn apart and she is heading to her grandparents’ house in Beaufort, NC to get it ready to sell. Her mother and uncle haven’t been back to the house since their parents died decades ago. Keaton has no idea what she is getting into, but she can make a to do list and accomplish anything. It would be a boring story if things go exactly as planned and this is NOT a boring story. The story is narrated by Keaton and her grandmother Becks. Keaton learns so much about her grandmother and grandfather, her mother, and herself as she prepares the house for its next owner. I loved the advice, traditions, and point of view Becks shares with us and how Keaton embraces it all. There were parts that made me tear up and parts that made my heart swell for the Saint James family. Kristy Woodson Harvey, you have written another fantastic book! Thank you!
THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE BY MICHELLE GABLE ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
**SUNSHINE AND BOOKS 2024 SUMMER BEACH READ**

Friends, this book was all I hoped it would be and more! It left me wanting to put on a Lilly to get stuff done around the house. This is a historical fiction book based on a fictional assistant to famous photographer Slim Aarons. Margo, the assistant, is left high and dry in Palm Beach and her friend insists that she get a job with Slim. Aarons is a photographer/story teller to the jet setters in Palm Beach. Margo meets Lilly Pulitzer and is enamored by her. Aren’t we all??? While Margo narrates the story, it is really all about Lilly and how she built my favorite clothing company empire. Slim Aaron’s photos are referenced frequently in the book and are all availabe from Getty images online. It was so fun to find the pictures I didn’t already know and hear the stories behind them. Lilly lovers unite and enjoy this book!! I loved every single page of it!
