Hello Monday – 4/22/24

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday! Did you realize that today and the next 7 days are all palindromes? 4-22-2024 is the same forward and backward? I love when number patterns pop up in the date!

Happy Earth Day! I love that Lilly always comes out with an image or even a print for Earth Day. Here are some fun ones from previous years. Enjoy and be sure to do something great for Mother Earth today!

On Friday, Luke turned 13 and we have all teenagers and forty-somethings in the house. I always do something with balloons for the boys’ birthday. The balloons are at their bedroom door when they wake up. This particular morning, the teenagers are beating the heck out of each other with said balloons before 7 am. Hooray!

What a handsome teenager!

It feels like this was yesterday!

13 years ago at this very minute, Luke was born.

We had mac and cheese for dinner, as requested by Luke before Jack went to swim and Luke went to Shooting Stars. Shooting Stars is a soccer program for anyone with a disability and nondisabled peers to play together. It is an amazing program and Luke loves it. He picked to volunteer on his birthday instead of going out to dinner to celebrate, and that is just the kind of kid Luke is. ❤️

We did have delicious chocolate peanut butter bar cake when we all got home.

Saturday was all about Luke, too. Jeff took Jack to the driving range for a little while before we all hopped in the minivan and spent the next 6 hours cheering Luke on and hanging out for his team. He had lacrosse pictures, a lacrosse game, and a soccer game. Lacrosse won in overtime and it was a very exciting game. Soccer didn’t go so well, but it was fun to watch him play!

We dashed home, ran through the shower, and headed out to dinner. My parents and Jeff’s parents joined us at a restaurant in town. Luke loves their crab dip in a bread bowl and that’s what he ordered for dinner. He was one happy boy!

We came back to sing again and enjoy more chocolate peanut butter bars. Luke had some big Lego sets on his list and spent Sunday morning getting started on them.

We also took our annual birthday pictures.

On Sunday, we hosted our pool board meeting. I made a delicious sausage, peppers, and egg casserole. It was a good reminder that I should probably make that more often for an easy breakfast all week. I also had a bunch of fruit for make your own fruit salad.

I spent a bit of time working on our summer calendar. Our swim team schedule is finalized and I wanted to get that on there. It felt good to catch up and get a good idea of what our summer may look like. I decided I am definitely not taking any classes this summer. Jack has two jobs at the pool (lifeguard and junior coach for swim team), is swimming on the summer and year round team, and has a membership to a golf course that he’d like to get to most days. Luke is swimming on the summer and year round team, needs to be running to stay in shape for soccer, and loves to go on day trips or excursions. I love to sit at the pool and read or talk to my friends. That doesn’t leave much time for a class, so summer fun wins this summer!! If I feel the urge to learn, I will probably work on a program certification that is self-paced.

Jeff and Jack went to the golf course to play golf on Sunday afternoon and Luke and I headed to the track. Then Luke played outside with the neighbors and I got ready for the week.

Our spring weeks are busy but manageable if I am prepared. I hope you are ready for the week ahead! Don’t forget to link up with us below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

That sounds like a wonderful weekend and happy birthday to Luke. He sounds like such a sweet kid (both your boys do!).

Looks like an amazing birthday for Luke. I love that he did Shooting Stars. So sweet.
The chocolate peanut butter bars sound delish.
Yay for no summer classes! You deserve to read and hang at the pool all you want.
