Happy Thursday! It’s the last Thursday of the month so I am linking up with Holly and Patty to answer 10 fun seasonal questions. I love thinking about my answers and seeing everyone else’s answers, too!
This month we are talking about winter self-care. Let’s get to it!
1. How do you take care of yourself in the winter?
I make sure to drink plenty of water because the heat is so drying. I make sure I get outside every day, even if it’s cold and cloudy. I exercise. I try to have an earlier bedtime to get plenty of rest after a busy December. I try to make plans with friends, even though I want to stay home when it’s cold.
2. How do you fight the winter blues?
Get as much sunshine as possible! I also try to keep my routines of exercise and reading. It can get pretty easy to sink into tv and social media and that’s not a good way to beat the winter blues.
And go somewhere warm! That always helps!
3. Tips to make your living space cozy?
Soft blankets and candles in the windows until we spring forward.
4. Suggestions for fun wintertime activities?
Tubing is a blast! We haven’t been in a while, but if it keeps snowing this winter I am going to try to go again.
5. What are your exercise routines in the winter?
I try to get up and exercise before work. It’s tougher in the winter, but that is my goal. I like to go for walks outside in the afternoon/evening, too.
6. Best tips for restful sleep?
Make the room a little chilly, keep a notepad by your bed to write down anything that is keeping you awake.
7. Favorite warm beverage?
I am not a coffee drinker at all. My favorite warm beverage is Wild Sweet Orange tea by Tazo or I Love Lemon tea by Bigelow.
8. Best winter skincare tip?
Drink lots of water and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! I use a facial oil or thicker serum if things get really dry. I also use finger gloves with vaseline for cracked fingers.
9. Flannel sheets – yes or no?
Yes! I love our flannel sheets, but I do not love flannel pillow cases. I love a crisp cotton pillow case all year long.
10. Favorite winter pajamas?
I love my new Lilly pajamas. They are warm and soft!
I also love my long john type pjs from Vineyard Vines.
But, my true favorite in the winter is my beloved pajama cardigan. It is the top from a fleece pjs set that my mom gave me over 20 years ago! The elastic in the pants no longer stretches, but the top is still going strong. I literally wear it every single day over my regular pajamas for a little extra warmth.
Well that was fun! I’m looking forward to seeing how everyone else does self-care in the winter. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
You have lots of cute Pj’s!
Thanks!! My mom gives me a pair in Christmas Eve every year and she’s got great taste!
Your Lilly PJs are too cute. I love how you did the candles in thw windows. Thanks for joining us this month.

I also don’t like coffee, and I love blankets and candles in the winter! I’ve started wearing more pajama sets instead of t shirts and sweats, and I love it! I like those pink ones you’re wearing.
Oh that wild sweet orange tea sounds delicious! But I am very intrigued by the finger gloves. Where do you get them? I could use some for my daughter.
They are in the first aid section near the regular latex gloves. They were a lifesaver last year!
LOVE your Lilly pj’s! They are SO cheerful 🙂
Your living space does look super cozy!!
The candles in the windows make the room so cozy! Another vote for Vineyard Vines in Monthly Musings today.
Water is a great answer for hydration. I wish I had thought of that. I’ve been doing better with my water intake. Your living room looks super cozy. We used to go tubing every year but haven’t been in a few years. So fun.
Your pajamas look so comfy and cozy – and I especially like the bright pink color! Stay warm!
