Hello Monday – 12/18/23

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

The weekend started on Friday with a very quiet night! The boys had swim practice and we finished The Muppet Christmas Carol movie. Luke had a field trip last week to see A Christmas Carol and both boys read it in 7th grade English, so I thought it would be fun to watch. It did not disappoint!

We were up early on Saturday morning because Jack, Luke, and I were volunteering at an 8 and under swim meet that our club was hosting. We all ended up doing the clerk of course (lining up swimmers) together and it was busy! Then we stayed to watch Jack swim in the distance meet our team was hosting.

On Saturday afternoon, I read by the Christmas tree for a little while. I finished Bright Lights, Big Christmas by Mary Kay Andrews. I absolutely loved it and was so sad to finish it. I started Three Holidays and a Wedding by Uzma Jalaluddin and Marissa Stanley. It’s off to a great start! It was on my Christmas books list.

Jeff and I had a Christmas party on Saturday evening and we had a great time! It’s was fun to get dressed up and see some good friends.

Don’t mind the vest and slippers in front of me, it was a busy day! I picked this dress up on the way home from the swim meet at Loft. It was on a great sale and so comfy!

Sunday was the first weekend day since before Thanksgiving that I woke up at home and didn’t set an alarm. It was GLORIOUS!! I didn’t sleep in, but I did stay in my pjs for a while. I got a bunch done before Jack and I headed back to the pool for him to swim. He swam so well this weekend and I am so proud of him. Luke was supposed to swim, but he hasn’t rebuilt his stamina enough to compete in a distance event.

We came home to a delicious smelling kitchen. I had a roast in the crockpot and finished up my last minute online shopping.

Then I decided it would be best to build three Billy bookshelves the week before Christmas for the library. Keep in mind, I have NOTHING wrapped or baked. I had to clear two shelves out of the room and made a big mess in our office, but it should all be back together by 8 pm tonight if everything goes as planned.

I changed my nail polish on Friday night from Cheers by Olive & June to In a Gingersnap by Essie. I love the sparkle red for holiday parties. I was so impressed when I got in bed last night and realized that the polish hadn’t chipped all weekend, even while putting the shelves together.

It rained like crazy all afternoon, evening, and night on Sunday. It is supposed to keep raining all night and into the day on Monday. I cannot even imagine what this would be like if it was 30 degrees instead of 50 degrees.

We have a good week ahead of us. I am looking forward to Friday afternoon and Christmas break starting. Jeff and Jack have a half day Wednesday and will be on break, but Luke and I have a half day Friday before our break starts. If you are a teacher or have kids in school, when does your break start? Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
