Happy Friday! I cannot believe there are only ten days until Christmas! I am not ready, but I have a big list of things to do this weekend to be more ready. I have some favorites for you today, so let’s get to it!
Favorite 1: CONCERT!! Just like last week, my parents and I went to a concert on Wednesday night. This week we saw Mac McAnally at Rams Head On Stage. Mac is in the Coral Reefer band and a great friend of Jimmy Buffett’s. Mac is an incredible musician, singer, and song writer and put on a fantastic show. He told a lot of stories about Jimmy and sang a bunch of the songs they wrote together. I cried during the show, still so sad that Jimmy is gone, but I made some great memories with my parents. We went to dinner beforehand and it was lovely. It is a rare occasion that I spend time with my mom and dad, just the three of us and it was really special.

My dad and I have started a list of shows we want to see if they come around next year. If nothing else, losing Jimmy Buffett has made me realize that making memories with music is important to me and I want to go see the shows!
Favorite 2: SWIMMING!! It is no surprise that I love being a swim team mom. I love summer swim, I love winter swim, and now I can say I love high school swim! Jack has his first high school swim meet this week. The team didn’t win, but it was so exciting to watch. The cool thing is that a lot of the water polo kids are on the swim team so I know some parents and kids.

We spent the weekend at a meet in Virginia and the kids both swam really well. Luke was right on his best times after an injury and being out of the pool for seven weeks. Jack got best times in every event he swam. He has been working hard and it showed! The boys and I both had fun with the kids and parents on the team.

Favorite 3: CHRISTMAS TREES!! For the first time this season, I am sitting in front of the Christmas tree relaxing and enjoying the lights as I write this post.

Favorite 4: NAIL POLISH!! I love painting my nails and usually do it every Sunday evening to relax and wind down before bed. I finally got back to it this week after almost a month. With Book Fair, decorating, and being out of town, I didn’t have time. I picked Cheers by Olive & June this week, but I think I’ll do something a little more festive this weekend.

Favorite 5: BOOKS! I am loving reading Christmas books. I’ve started Mary Kay Andrews’ Bright Lights Big Christmas and it’s great. I always enjoy her writing style and sense of humor. It is perfect!

Favorite 6: SANTA!! I love when Santa comes by on the fire truck. He came on Monday and all the kids on the block gathered together with hot chocolate to watch for Santa. Our neighbor has twins and her husband was out that night. I got to hold one of her sweet 2 year olds while we waited and it was wonderful!

This weekend, Jack is swimming in a longer distance meet and we are volunteering at an 8 and under meet that our team is hosting. We have a Christmas party on Saturday night. I am looking forward to a slower Sunday morning and some family time. I might even get some wrapping done. Have a great day full of sunshine and Christmas books!

What a full week of favorites! I really enjoyed Andrews book this year; it was such a cute one and made me want to head into NYC
Such a fun week! I will be emailing you for some suggestions. We are scheduling our 2024 Book Club Meet Ups and I will be hosting February- I want to do some type of Valentine/Galentine theme so I need to pick a light and romantic read…putting the bug in your ear 🙂
Such a festive post! Santa on a fire truck? How fun!
