Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday! Today starts my last week of summer break and I am not so happy about it. We are definitely ready for a routine, but I am not ready for the days with lounging at the pool and nothing else that we must do.

I knew Friday was going to be a busy day so I went for my walk right after I finished my Peloton workouts. It was chilly enough for leggings. I do love the cool mornings and hot afternoons, but they also feel like the beginning of the end. They are a sure sign that it’s almost back to school time. I got a little thrill when I realized my socks matched my tank top.

After my walk, I made Luke a quick breakfast and headed to pick up Jack from water polo practice. We stopped by Old Navy on the way home to pick up the powersoft dress in pink. It was on a great sale and I am going to wear it to school a bunch this fall. It was still a little chilly and neither boy wanted to go to the pool, so we hung out around the house. On Friday evening, I was volunteering in the high school concession stand for Jack’s water polo team, Jeff went to a concert, and Luke had soccer practice. We had to call in the reinforcements that night. Thankfully, my mom and dad were able to get Luke from practice and bring him home. They hung out with the boys until I got home.
We were up bright and early for Luke’s first 11v11 soccer games. It was a bit chilly!

They moved up to the full field this year. Luke has been running this summer to be ready and he sure was! It was so fun to watch him back out on the field having so much fun.

When we got home, the boys wanted to stay home and play outside. Jeff and I went to the pool for a bit because it was gorgeous!

On Saturday evening, we went to the golf course so they guys could hit balls and practice putting. When we got home, Jeff and I had a two hour calendar meeting. We went over the whole fall and some big dates for the year. We started outside, but it got dark and chilly so we moved inside.

We didn’t set any alarms on Sunday morning and it was glorious!! I didn’t sleep in, but it was nice to have a choice when I got out of bed. I did a big grocery pickup and got some things ready for the week. I decided that we were going to have a tech free morning. It was a little painful at first, but the kids ended up playing ping pong and some other games.
Jack had a golf tournament and Luke did not want to go. So, we went to the pool while Jeff, Jack, my dad, and Jeff’s dad went to the golf course. Jack played really well! He also got his medals from last season and last weekend.

Luke and I had a great afternoon at the pool. We read and hung out with friends. It was another great pool day!

When we got home, we had an easy dinner and I prepped the taco meat for Monday’s dinner (who is this person and what has she done with Summer Sarah?).

As I was working on this post, we had a little visitor come out of the corn field. Isn’t he or she cute?

I ordered new black sandals for school and I am not quite sure about them. I love the single big strap, but I am not sure about the big, shiny buckle. What do you think? I’m worried I look a little pirate-like.

I am heading into school today for a bit and then off to the golf course to cheer on Jack. I have a few more hours to work this week but I am not sure exactly what day I’ll head in to school, probably the cloudiest one. Ha! I hope you’ll link up with us below if you blogged today! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Another busy weekend for you. Fall/autumn feels like it’s been creeping in for a while, here in the UK. Children go back to school first week of September. Hoping we get some prolonged sun before then! Have a good week.
I love the sandals and was considered the brown last spring. I think the fact that they are black is what is throwing you off, but if you wear a lot of black I think you will love them!
I agree. I have some girlfriends who have the brown and I love them!
I like the sandals- I think they just need getting used to- I have the same ones and have only used them a few times. Cracked up at your meal prep/Summer Sarah comment- ha! Glad you are squeezing in every last ounce of summer fun 🙂
I’m torn with our weather too since I do kind of like the cool mornings but then it makes me sad that summer is coming to an end and fall will be here soon…
I wasn’t thinking pirate with those sandals but they do remind me a bit of the pilgrim hats! LOL. I’m sure as you wear them the buckle with lose a bit of it’s shine and you’ll get used to them. They do look comfy and that black will go with everything.
What a great weekend! I’m jealous of the fact you have cool enough weather for sweatshirts haha
I hope you have a great last week of summer.
