Hello Monday – 3/6/23

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Friday was quite a day. Nothing was particularly wrong, but it was busy and there wasn’t a minute to sit down. By the end of the day, I was ready to clear off my desk and take a deep breath. So I did. I also flipped my calendar to Friday and giggled at how applicable it was!

The best part of Friday happened around 6 pm. Are you ready for this???

Our dishwasher was installed!! I LOVE IT!! It felt so good to finally use real plates, silverware, and cups! The best part of a dishwasher is not picking up all of these unfinished bottles of water around the house. Ha!

Jack decided to go to a private high school next year and we had Freshman Welcome Saturday morning. I cannot believe that he’s going to be in high school next year. The days are long but the years are fast!! We had a great morning getting some more information about classes, extracurricular activities, and uniforms. I’m so proud of him!!

We came home and our neighbor hung our new chandelier. I love it! It’s a bit bigger but matches my style so much more than the previous one. I’ve ordered new pendant lights for over the counter and hopefully they’ll be in soon.

After just a few hours at home, we hopped back in the car. Jack and Luke went to Jeff’s parents’ house for the evening. We went to two alumni events for Jeff’s school. We popped into a 40th reunion and then went to a lacrosse alumni event. Jeff’s been asked to be the alumni engagement director next year, so this was a great first step into his new role.

They were honoring Jeff for his dedication to the lacrosse program at athletic director. It was so fun to connect with some people I hadn’t seen in years. I am so proud of Jeff and all the success he had as the athletic director. It was wonderful to hear all the ways Jeff has impacted so many people as athletic director and assistant principal now.

Sunday was another busy day. Luke is heading to a weeklong sleep away camp that’s part of the 6th grade curriculum. I spent the morning labeling EVERYTHING and getting him all packed. He’s so excited and I know he’s going to have the absolute best time. I have the best memories of going in 6th grade and going back in high school as a counselor. They aren’t allowed to bring any electronics, but they can take pictures on a disposable camera. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find one anymore but Walmart came through. Explaining how to use it to Luke felt like we were in a history museum and I was telling him how cavemen did things. It was hilarious!

Charge the flash 😂 Wind the film 😂

Jack’s basketball team had their final party on Sunday afternoon. It was so bittersweet. The boys are such good friends and have so much fun together and I just can’t believe it’s over. Jack has been playing sports with some of these boys since pre-k and Jack has coached some of them in some capacity since then, too.

Jeff and Jason have been coaching together since the boys were in second grade. They are great coaches, great friends, and complement each other so well. They’ve had a great run!

What a weekend! So many celebrations and even more to look forward to! I’ll be back tomorrow with one of my favorite posts so be sure to check in. If you blogged today, be sure to link up with Holly and me below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!!

What a fun weekend of celebrations! That new dishwasher is wonderful, I’m sure. I also love your new light! My boys know how to use a disposable camera only because we used to buy a waterproof one each year to take with us on vacation to use in the hotel pool and at the beach…. though I’m sure I’d have to explain how to charge the flash!
