What’s Up Wednesday – 2/22/23

Happy Wednesday! It’s the last Wednesday of the month so I am sharing what we’ve been up to. Let’s get to it!

Linking up with Sheaffer and Shay

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT…

Jeff has been coaching Jack’s travel basketball since third grade. This is their last year together and their last weekend of games. I can’t believe it’s over already. I’ve been reminiscing about all their time together.

WHAT I’M LOVING…

The sunshine and the longer days make me so happy!

I went back to the Peloton app for workouts and I really love it! The classes are engaging and I love that I can pick the classes that fit my time available. I am still working out in my basement most days and I love how convenient it is.

Have you seen the spring Swig patterns? I am trying to resist, but it’s not going very well…

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…

I handed out about 500 books to the students and staff at my school last week. Every year, I run a school wide book club. This year we are reading Bad Kitty Gets a Bath by Nick Bruel. It’s a fun book that all elementary school students will enjoy!

WHAT I’M DREADING…

The only thing I am dreading right now is washing dishes! Our dishwasher died about two and half weeks ago and doing dishes is getting old!

WHAT I’M WORKING ON…

All the goals! I set two goals for the year earlier in the month for Declare It Day. I haven’t started my running goal yet because I am waiting for a new set of insoles. I’ve had two full weeks to relax and I’m at 50% success.

I’m also working on my February goals . I am reading and exercising to meet these goals. I am starting to panic a little about my 1-on-1 goals with my kids and Jeff.

I am still trying to get outside for at least 23 minutes a day. This gorgeous February weather has made it pretty easy!

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT…

I have a bunch of things I am excited about. 1 – The boys are in the same session for their next swim meet! Woohoo!!

2 – The pool opens 94 days!

3 – Golf season is starting again for Jack (and the rest of us)!

4 – Lacrosse season is starting again for Luke!

5 – I am very cautiously excited about the possibility of a dishwasher being delivered on Saturday. I won’t really believe it until I do the first load, but I’m hoping!

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…

I’ve been watching a lot of basketball. I’m watching in person and on television. ‘Tis the season in the Parsons’ house.

Jeff and I started watching Shrinking on Apple TV. We are only an episode or two in, but it’s good.

I finished Endless Summer by Elin Hilderbrand last weekend and it was SO GOOD!! I really think it is a love letter to her fans. It was so fun to revisit favorite characters from her novels. If you love Elin’s books, do yourself a favor and go read it! It is amazing!

WHAT I’M WEARING…

I have been wearing just about everything in my closet from every season. Our weather has been crazy. Just look at this week:

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…

This weekend is pretty low key. Jeff is coaching Jack’s last two or three basketball games. Luke has swim practice and lacrosse practice. Jeff and I are going on a date night. I’m living that suburban mom dream!

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…

Even though we’ve gotten snowstorms in March, I am looking forward to the possibility of spring weather. March can be a long month when it’s cold and gray with no snow, but I am looking forward to some spring sunshine, longer days, and celebrating Jack’s birthday at the end of the month.

FAVORITE AMAZON PURCHASE…

I love this turtleneck. I bought it in two colors and I’ve shared it with a bunch of friends. It’s so comfy and looks cute!

I think that just about covers it. I’ll be back tomorrow for Monthly Musings and then on Friday to share my favorites from the week. I hope you’ll be back too! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

How fun to hand out so many books. I LOVE the idea of a school wide book club! And yes, the weather has been so variable this year. I wore my Converse to go for a walk on Sunday and tonight we’re under a freezing rain/snow warning. It’s so hard to figure out how to dress.
