Hello Monday – 2/6/23

Happy Monday! I hope you all survived that freezing blast of cold air that hit the north eastern part of the USA this weekend. Saturday was so cold!! I’m here with Holly sharing a little update on my monthly goals. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I realized that I need to get back to monthly goal setting to make sure I am working towards something every day. In January, I set 5 goals. They were a little lofty, but gave me something to aim for. Here’s how I did.

My reading goal was to read 5 books – 1 nonfiction adult book, 3 adult fiction books, 1 children’s graphic novel, and 1 children’s novel. I did it! And I read an extra adult book!

I was listening to the Happier podcast with Gretchen Rubin and heard about the goal of getting 23 minutes outside every day. I didn’t start until January 9th. I didn’t get out there every day, but I did think about making time to get outside more. I’m going to keep working on this in February.

I have a some new goals and a few repeater goals for February. Here they are:
1. Read at least one nonfiction adult book, one children’s novel, and one children’s graphic novel.
2. Walk at a 15-16 minute pace at least 5 times a week.
3. Exercise in the morning 4-5 times a week with new workout plan.
4. Have one 1-on-1 meal and activity with Jeff, Jack, and Luke.

I know that I will continue to read adult fiction because I love it, so I am dropping that off my goals.
I will continue to try to work ahead on blog posts, but it’s becoming a habit so I kept that off the list.
I am also going to keep working on 23 minutes outside a day.
I dropped the running off my February list because I need new insoles and they won’t be in until March.

Do you have any goals for the month? Are you more of a yearly goal setter? Hopefully by the time you read this, I have exercised and am crushing that goal. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I don’t have them written down but I am trying to get back to healthier habits. I have not been going to the gym in the mornings because it’s so cold and I just want to hibernate in bed for longer, but I plan to start that back up again soon.

You did great with your goals! I’m hopeful that our weather will keep going the ways it’s been going this winter since my goals definitely include lots of hiking/outside time (but ONLY if it’s not too cold).

Love your goals…the 1:1 time is a great one. I naturally get that with hadley more often than hayden…but just a couple of weeks ago, hayden and I went to dinner and it was so nice.
