Reading Lately – 12/13/22

Happy Tuesday! It’s the second Tuesday of the month, so I am linking up with Shooting Stars to show you the books I read this month.

Pineapple Street by Jenny Jackson (out March 7, 2023) ☀️☀️☀️☀️

This story of three women in one family was pretty interesting. You know I love a family story and this one with its twists and turns between a mother, her daughter, and daughter-in-laws was a good read. Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest opinion.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (audio) ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Harry Potter stories hold up to time. I am loving reading the series again with with Luke!

Thanksgiving by Janet Evanovich (audio) ☀️☀️☀️

I was looking for a Thankgiving book to listen to on my drive to and from the beach and this fit the bill. It passed the time just fine but I wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to it again.

Inheritance by Katharine McGee ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

I was so excited to go back to the world of the American Royals. This prequel was a view into the night that started the whole series and I loved it!

Mistletoe in Paradise by Jill Shalvis (audio) ☀️☀️☀️

I had quite a bit of time in the car and on my own recently so I was looking for Christmas books to listen to. This one was available through my library so I gave it a shot. It was fun to listen to and passed the time just fine.

All I Want for Christmas by Maggie Knox ☀️☀️☀️☀️

I was so excited to read this book after enjoying Maggie Knox’s book last year. This did not disappoint. The settings of Nashville and Banff made me want to visit both places! It was fun to see the behind the scenes of a reality music show and to sprinkle in some Christmas. Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Twelve Days of Christmas by Debbie Macomber (audio)☀️☀️☀️☀️

Remember when I said I was looking for Christmas audio books? Here’s another one. Debbie Macomber’s books are light and fun and you can always count on a happy ending. This one didn’t disappoint. It was a great for getting in to the spirit!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling (audio) ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Another Harry Potter, another 5 sunshine read. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Jim Dale is an amazing narrator and he makes the stories come to life!

There’s Something About Merry by Codi Hall ☀️☀️☀️☀️

This was a fun Christmas read and I loved the family dynamics in a small town. It was fun to have a rekindled romance for the main characters. The misunderstandings the whole way through kept me rooting for the characters! Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an hone

A Magical New York Christmas by Anita Hughes ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

This was a perfect Christmas read, especially right before our trip to New York City! I loved the history with Kay Thompson and Eloise in the Plaza. I am going to try to read some more of Anita’s books. I highly recommend this book!

Single All the Way by Portia MacIntosh (audio) ☀️☀️☀️☀️

This book passed the time perfectly on my drive to Richmond and back this weekend. I loved how the main character took control of her fate after her love life and work life fell apart. I was looking for a fun Christmas read and this was a great choice!

Currently Reading: Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Jenny Bayliss

Currently Listening: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

Currently (still) reading: The 47 People You Meet in Middle School by Kristen Mahoney

I’ve been so busy at school that I haven’t made time to read this one at school. I need to get reading this week.

You can always checkout what I’ve been reading on my Books 2022 page. If you scroll to the bottom of that Books 2022 page, I have all of my yearly reading pages linked.

I have still have quite a few Christmas books on my list to read this month and I hope I can get to them. I had a great reading month in November and I am looking forward to that continuing through the end of the year. Have a great day full of sunshine and Christmas books!
