Happy Friday! We are off today and Monday for Easter. Our county calls it spring break, but I refuse. Spring break is a week and these two days are not enough to make a real spring break. I am still happy to have a few days off without much to do. I have some favorites from this week, so let’s get to them!

Favorite 1: FUN RUN!! We had our school fun run yesterday. The weather was absolutely perfect – warm and sunny with a great breeze! It was Luke’s last fun run and I worked really hard to think of how much fun we were having and not about the fact that the elementary school lasts are starting for him. Jeff is on spring break (a real one) so he came to cheer Luke on and join him for a lap.

Favorite 2: JACK!! Jack’s hairstyle has been a mullet for the better part 3 years. On Saturday, I decided it was time for it to go. The mullet may come back, but not for a little while.

Favorite 3: PEEPS!! My mom, the boys, and I have been going to the Peep Show in our town for seven years. Some years my dad and Jeff join us and some years they meet us for lunch or dinner afterwards. This year, my dad joined us. The Peep Show is an art show and all the entries are made of or include Peeps candy. It is so much fun! We went on Wednesday evening and saw a bunch of creative entries. This was Jack’s favorite.

Favorite 4: FLOWERS!! I was looking for flower arrangements this week and couldn’t find anything I loved. I decided to go to our local Safeway because they have the best flowers. I got three dozen pink roses and a little greenery. I reached way back in my memory to my Junior Garden Club wisdom and created these. I was so pleased with how they turned out.

Favorite 5: FAMILY!! Jeff’s grandmother passed away recently and her memorial service was this week. Gram was 97 1/2 and in relatively good health until the very end. It was a really hard and awful day, but spending time with the whole family brightened it some. It has been a long time since his whole family has been together so it was nice to be together. We are going to see most of our families on Easter, so I am looking forward to that!
