Happy Friday! This has been quite a week at our house! Our district switched from hybrid back to virtual learning on Thursday. With numbers on the rise in our county and state, it feels like the right choice even though my kids were excelling with in-person instruction. Here are my favorites from this crazy week.
Favorite 1: CHRISTMAS BOOKS!! I shared a mega-list of Christmas book recommendations this week with an adorable downloadable bookmark. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out. Some of my favorite authors have written great Christmas books and I found some books that read like Hallmark Christmas movies. I’m also doing a Christmas book giveaway on that post. It ends on Saturday morning, so get to it!
Favorite 2: SWINGSETS AND FORTS!! The boys swingset gave us 7 good years but it is time for it to come down. This week Luke and I worked together to get it taken apart while Jack took some of the pieces to build their fort. I’ve started calling the fort Shantytown South because it is so similar to the Shantytown fort they built at the pool this summer.
Favorite 3: PICTURE DAY!! Luke had picture day on Tuesday and he woke up ready. This boy was all about the fancy and all about the blue. Even his socks and shoes were blue.
Favorite 4: TURKEYS!! I am reading one of my favorite Thanksgiving books this week and my Turkey earrings compliment them perfectly! If you haven’t read A Plump and Perky Turkey by Teresa Bateman, you should! It’s funny and kids of all ages love it!
Favorite 5: QUIET!! The fans and dehumidifiers are finally gone from our basement! The peace and quiet is so lovely. It’s also pretty nice to have a dry basement again. Even though our basement is unfinished, we have some area rugs down there and use it quite a bit.
That’s it for the week. I am excited for this weekend! We are going to clean out the garage and the basement. It doesn’t sound exciting but I’m excited to do it. Jack has his first indoor soccer game in 3 years. I am hoping to finish my book and get started on another Christmas book, too.
Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
