Hello Monday! I had a most amazing weekend and I can’t wait to share with you! I am linking up with Johannah, Heather, and Lindsay to share some sunshine from my weekend!
The weekend started around 3:00 on Friday when a few girlfriends and I headed to the beach. We were signed up for a running challenge this weekend and couldn’t wait. We were running the Fort Miles Challenge at the Coastal Delaware Running Festival. This included a 5K on Saturday morning and a half-marathon on Sunday morning.
Once we got to the beach on Friday, picked up our packets, ran our mile for my run streak, and went to a delicious dinner at Blackwell Hitch in Rehoboth, Delaware.

At the expo, getting excited!

Day 475 run – complete
Saturday morning we got up early and headed to the 5K. We had a great run. Our area is full of rolling hills and this super flat, coastal run was AMAZING!! I ran my fastest 5K ever and rang that PR bell afterwards.

Post run!

Ringing the PR bell!
The after party was sponsored by The Starboard and their delicious bloody marys were the signature drink. I LOVE a Starboard bloody mary and was so excited to have one!

Starboard Bloody Mary – YUM!
After we ran, we went to a local bookstore to meet Kristy Woodson Harvey. To say I was excited was a complete understatement. I ended up getting 3 of Kristy’s books and had the most wonderful conversation with her. Kristy could not have been more gracious or lovely. Meeting her inspired Jodi and Sandra to read one of her books! Kourtni and I are so excited to read The Secret to Southern Charm! I am also bumping Lies and Other Acts of Love and Dear Carolina to the top of my To Read list!

Kristy was absolutely charming and I cannot wait to read her new book!
We grabbed lunch and went back to our place to relax. I picked up a new nail polish and I really like it. It is Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Let’s Snow. I love the wide brush of the Complete Manicure line.
We decided to do a favorite things party while on the girls’ weekend too. Everyone brought some great “new to me” things and I can’t wait to try the favorites. I have a Favorite Things post coming up this week, so you’ll have to check back to see what we shared!
The girls and I were looking for a delicious restaurant with some fish and veggie sides. We tried Just Hooked in Fenwick Island, DE and it was amazing. I had the scallops with roasted corn, peppers, and Vermont cheddar grits. We will definitely be going back when we are at the beach this summer!
It was early to bed Saturday night because we wanted to be on the road by 6 am Sunday morning to get to the race in plenty of time. It was a flat, scenic route and all five of us had great runs! Though this was my third half-marathon, it was the first one that I ran the whole thing! (I did interval training for the other two.) I am so proud of all of us! It was Kourtni’s first half and she rocked it! Jodi, Erin, and Sandra were the best motivators, cheerleaders, and running buddies on the course! We most definitely earned our 13 glasses of wine!

Ready to run!

Halfway and feeling great!

Finished!!! Look at that beautiful sand and ocean! This run was gorgeous!!

5 amazing ladies with our finisher trucker hats

We definitely earned all that hardware!
My new Fellow Flowers Run Free sweatshirt is the perfect riding home outfit. It is unbelievably soft and cozy!

This sweatshirt is an instant favorite! Run Free ladies!
This was a great weekend and the first time any of us have done back to back races! I am so proud of these ladies! We had the best time full of laughs, deep conversations, and wonderful memories!
My weekend was FULL of sunshine and books!! I hope yours was too! We have a full week coming up and I am looking forward to even more sunshine on my cheeks and some good reading!
