Happy Friday! I am happy to be here on a Friday to share some favorites today. I hope you had a great week full of favorites, too!

Favorite 1: MOM!! I had a colonoscopy yesterday and my mom hung out with me all day. She took me to the procedure, stayed with me all day, and then took me to pick up Luke and take him to his dentist appointment since I couldn’t drive. It was a great day with her! We watched some tv, laughed a good bit, and she told me some old family stories. Thanks Mom!!

Favorite 2: SUNSHINE! I don’t know what the weather is like where you are, but ours has been my favorite kind of November weather. It has been in the 70s most afternoons and the sun has been shining bright until 5 pm. I am consciously working to get outside in the sun each day since we are getting less and less of it.
Favorite 3: HALLOWEEN!! Jeff and I handed out candy together for the first time ever. We had a lot of trick-or-treaters and it was nice to do it together.

Favorite 4: SPIRIT! We had an undercover spirit week at school last week for staff. We had “anything but a cup” day, pj day, black out day, jersey day, and holiday day. I used a tennis ball can for my cup but I forgot to take a picture. I wore a different Halloween shirt on Friday but forgot to take a picture. It was fun! The kids were too funny as they were figuring it out. We all gave them different reasons for why we were dressed that way and watching them put it all together made me giggle. Here are my outfits for the other days.

Favorite 5: BOOKS!! I can’t have a Friday Favorites without books! I feel like I am back on track with my reading pace and time. I don’t read books just to finish them or to reach a certain number at the end of the year. But, when I notice that it is taking me over a week to read a book, something must be up. Sometimes it happens because the book is long – hello Calamity Club – or we have a lot going on, but most often it’s because I’m choosing other things that aren’t as good for my brain as reading. I think I will finish two books this week and have another one ready to go when I am sitting in the stands of a swim meet on Sunday. I shared what I’ve been reading last week if you want to check it out.
Favorite 6: WIFI & NO WIFI!! We found out on Tuesday that our main line to the house for internet went bad. While it was a challenge to be without internet for almost 4 days, I did enjoy the quiet of no tv, video games, or reels. I also liked how we all were forced to find something else to do.
Favorite 7: LEAVES!! While summer will always be my favorite season, I am happy that fall provides some beautiful foliage to lessen the blow. My neighbor has three enormous trees in their backyard and they are the most beautiful in fall. I was on the floor doing a quick core workout this week and this was my view:

Favorite 8: VOTING! I always vote. I am so proud to live in a country where I have a say in the government and I will never pass it up. I am proud of Americans this week, too. Record numbers of people voted in the midterm elections. I also cannot believe that the next time we vote Jack will be eligible to vote!!

Hello Monday (Hello No WIFI)
Currently
I am looking forward to this weekend. We are going to a football game on Saturday and Luke has a swim meet on Sunday. There is a delicious sandwich and pizza shop near the pool that we always go to after the meet. I am not sure what next week will bring, but I will definitely be here for Hello Monday. I hope you will, too! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I’m like that with books too; if it’s taking me a long time to finish one I start to really think about why– is is the book itself? has live been extra busy? am I just being lazy and not setting aside the time to read? It was sweet of your mom to act as your driver and companion for the day!
Glad your colonoscopy went well! We’ve had the same weather this week and it’s been lovely. We have a similar tree in our yard but now all the leaves are on the ground. Anything but a cup is always such a fun idea. Have a great weekend.
Yeah! Love reading about the time with your mom and we loved voting too! The trees in your yard are beautiful but glad you are still getting summer weather the way we are-enjoying every last bit of it!
