Happy Wednesday! It’s the first Wednesday of the month and I am linking up with Amy to share five things I am currently doing. Each month we share five different things and I think it’s a fun way to think about what’s going on.

I am saying no to…
I am working on saying no to my pjs at 5:30 pm. This early darkness makes me want to go to bed immediately. I’m not actually tired and I have things to do. However, as soon as the sun sets, I want to set also.
I am saying no to the acorns! We have a giant oak tree in our front yard. It’s beautiful when the leaves change. However, it has so many acorns this year and they are dropping on our driveway. I use my leaf blower almost every day when I get home to blow them away.
I am thanking ____ for…
I am thanking the wonderful technician from Xfinity! He found that the main line going to our house had gone bad and that’s why we didn’t have any internet. He was here for about an hour and we are back up and running today. I don’t often think about how much we depend on the internet, but it’s a lot! We stream all of our tv watching, all ipads and laptops need the WiFi, the Alexas need the internet for white noise and alarms, and our doorbell and security cameras use WiFi. I am grateful to have it back!
I am thanking the sun for showing up so much lately. Our weather has been incredible! I had off on Tuesday for Election Day and we have a half day for the end of the quarter today. I enjoyed a lot of outside time on Tuesday and am planning to work from my deck this afternoon.

Tomorrow, I am thanking my mom for being my buddy all day. I have a colonoscopy and she’s going to be my ride. I forgot about Luke’s dentist appointment when I schedule my appointment, so my mom is driving me to pick up Luke and head to the dentist. I hope she’s ready for a great day!
I am eating / drinking…
I am not eating as much candy as I usually would on November 4th. Neither kid trick-or-treated so they didn’t bring any candy in. We had a lot of trick-or-treaters and I didn’t have much candy left at the end of the night. I’m sure this is for the best, but it does feel a little strange.

We always have apple cider for Halloween. I stopped at one of our local farms that makes the best cider and picked up a gallon. I added a little whipped cream vodka and it was a very yummy treat.

I am cozying up to…
I am cozying up to our new couch. I am so happy with it! The chaise lounge portion is my favorite part and I’m under a blanket right there as I write this.

I am cozying up our menu. Even though we’ve had warm, sunny weather, I am getting ready to enjoy some cozy dinners. I started with chili on Halloween and am looking forward to some pasta bakes, soups, and crockpot meals.
I am thinking about cozying up my nail polish colors. I typically paint my nails a pastel color, but am feeling the pull towards wines and mauves with the start of November.
I am watching / reading…
Well, as I type this, I am watching NBC election coverage. I always watch the news on Election Day. I have very fond memories of staying up until the wee hours of the morning in 2000 with my college roommates. It was our first presidential election and we were invested. I am making memories this year, too. Luke is very interested in what’s happening across the country and what these election results could mean.
I got to watch the Today show on Tuesday morning since we didn’t have school. It was a great way to start the day!
I am trying to read more. I haven’t been reading as much as I would like which usually means I am scrolling too much. Right now I am reading Steven Rowley’s book from this summer. I am not really sure where it’s going, but I’m along for the ride.
My TBR is growing faster than I can ever read. Jenna Bush Hager just announced her November book and it looks great! I think I am ready to start listening to number 6 in the Emma M. Lion series. I am thinking about the Christmas books I want to read this year, too.
Thanks for the prompts Amy! They were fun this month. What are you currently up to? Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

The new couch is fabulous! I found myself falling back into my fall routine of putting on pj’s before cooking dinner already at least once this week. That time change just makes me want to cozy up indoors once it gets dark– though I have forced myself to stay up until my regular bedtime so I can readjust.
I rely on you for book recs so keep them coming! I don’t watch any daytime tv but I usually like Jenna’s pics.
I love the apple cider whipped vodka idea!
Love your new couch!
Glad you had time off, too, and cozy meals are always good!
Ahh! I am having the same struggle, not getting into my Pjs too early. lol
That is good that you got your internet fixed and yay to the sun shining! Thinking of you. I hope your colonoscopy goes OK.
Your new couch looks fabulous!
I know what you mean about pjs…I try and wait until after dinner to put those on . Haha
I love your new couch…it looks so comfy!
Today, I made a short list of Christmas books I hope to read in December. Can’t wait!
Oh wifi is such a part of life, it is hard to go without it! I love the cozy foods and colors of the season too. A day off midweek is so nice. Enjoy the rest of your week. Marilyn
