Happy Friday! I am trying to get back into a more regular rhythm of blogging so I am happy to be here today! This has been a great week and every day has been different. Summer Sarah is still going strong and I have some favorites for you today. Let’s get to them!
Favorite 1: MORE ALASKA!! I was excited to share our day in Juneau with you yesterday! We had an incredible day with helicopter rides, dog sledding, Wyatt Earp’s gun, and indie bookstores! I think I have two more posts for you – Ketchikan and Vancouver – and will hopefully have them finished next week. I shared when we boarded the ship in Whittier, AK and a day at sea, Hubbard Glacier, day at sea, Glacier Bay National Park, and our day in Icy Strait Point/Hoonah already.
Favorite 2: GOLF!! Jack played in a golf tournament this week. Jeff went on the first day and I got to go on the second day. Jack played really well both days! I enjoyed watching him play and walking the course with my dad!
Favorite 3: MAH JONG!! We had our second mah jong night at the pool yesterday. My mom came to lead the group and we had a great time! I am hoping to find time to play mah jong during the school year because I really enjoy it.
Favorite 4: POOL & BOOKS!! I have been to the pool most days this week. It is no secret that I love reading my book by the pool and I have been doing that as much as I can! I have been reading up a storm lately and the pool is giving me a good spot to keep it up.
Favorite 5: SUMMER!! Summer Sarah has been killing it this week! So much relaxing and fun without many plans or schedules. It’s wonderful!!
Favorite 6: SCHOOL!! I am not back to school yet, but I did go in for a meeting on Tuesday. It was really lovely to see my work friends and get a few things done at school. I think I am going back this morning to do my summer hours because it is supposed to be cloudy and maybe rainy. I do love my job and being able to pick when I go into work makes it pretty good!
Favorite 7: CALENDARS! I love page-a-day calendars! August 11th was a great day for both of my calendars this week!
As I write this on Thursday night, I have no idea what my weekend is going to look like. I might head out of town or go to a concert. We’ll see what happens. That’s Summer Sarah for you! I do know I’ll enjoy the sunshine and get some good reading in and that is enough for me. I hope you have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

You’re drinking the mah jong Kool-Aid! Give yourself several times of playing to really catch on. It literally hurt my brain at first. I have not played in a long time with everyones’ crazy summer schedules but I hope to play soon.

I’ve been relaxing this week and reading a lot. We have no weekend plans for a change, so maybe I’ll take a book to the pool. Or out on the boat. I just finished a mystery (more or less) called The Ghostwriter by Julie Clark, and really liked it. I love Mah Jong and have somehow become the neighborhood instructor. I’ve taught over 30 neighbors to play this year lol. It’s fun to have a big group and there are three opportunities to play in the neighborhood so it works out. Enjoy your weekend Summer Sarah!
