Happy Wednesday! It’s the first Wednesday of the month and I am linking up with Amy to share five things I am currently doing. Each month we share five different things and I think it’s a fun way to think about what’s going on.

I am savoring…

the wide open schedule of summer! We all go back to school at the end of August so I am soaking up this time. Swim team is over and my extra summer days at school haven’t started. The boys are working at the pool but that is all we HAVE to do.

reading for fun! I am savoring all the books I am reading this summer. I usually read a few kids books in the summer and I haven’t yet. I brought a few home with me so maybe I’ll enjoy them this month.

I am wrapping up…

nothing! I am not wrapping up anything. I am firmly in the middle of quite a few things: summer, reading, sleeping in a bit, staying up a little later, doing things on a whim, and making very few meals.

I am preparing…

for the “s” word at that is coming at the end of the month. I am not actually preparing, more mentally preparing. I know that things get way busier and I need to be on my A game to have a smooth fall. Right now I think the best way to prepare is to soak up the summer feeling! I would like to repeat that there is no actual preparing going on. I am not making meal plans, weekend plans, workout plans, lesson plans. None of it. Summer Sarah is holding strong here.

I am organizing…

a few things here and there. I am not into full fledged school prep, but I can feel it coming. I did go through all of our extra school supplies the other day. The boys made lists of things they think they’ll need and went through everything we already have. I love school supply shopping and honestly it make me a little sad to only need a few pencils or folders.

I put a new cabinet/shelf together for our office. I cleaned out the old shelf and organized a bit when I put everything on the new shelf. It felt great!

I am remembering…

that even though most people in the south are headed back to school, it is still summer. In fact, September is still summer. We have a lot of summer left and I am letting Summer Sarah take the lead. Which might be why this post is coming to you in the afternoon instead of the middle of the night. Ha!!

my summer clothes! My favorite days have this wardrobe – pjs, workout clothes, bathing suit, pjs – but I have been trying to wear dresses and real clothes when I have to get dressed. Luckily it stays pretty warm here through the end of September and early October so I can keep wearing these clothes when school starts.

Thanks to Amy for hosting! That was fun! I am still working on my Alaska posts, maybe we’ll get another one tomorrow! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Summer Natasha is right there with Summer Sarah!!! I saw an Instagram post today that said we’ve only gotten through 42 days of official summer and there are still 50 left to go. Summer’s not even (officially) halfway over. Must remember that when it feels like it’s going too fast!

Yay for being in the “middle” of things 🙂
Love the new cabinet. I had my kids go through their supplies before we replenished a few things on Monday at Walmart. Love your summer outfits…it’s time for me to start looking a bit more put together. Haha

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer, it sounds like you have a relaxed time planned.
I used to love the back to school shopping and I have missed doing it over the last few years since my youngest has never really needed much.

Enjoy your sweet spot of no swim and no school prep! I love your new office cabinet. I think a perfect summer day is one with relaxing and productivity! Sometimes it’s hard to achieve that balance.
