Hello Monday – 6/22/26

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Happy first Monday of summer!!! It is also my first Monday of summer since I finished up last Tuesday. We are soaking all the summer things and loving it! Monday and Tuesday were a bit crazy. I went to work around 615, left for swim team practice at 830, went back to work around 12, came home a little after 3, and then went back to swim practice on Monday from 5-7.

By Wednesday morning, I was thrilled to sleep in until 7ish. We have three swim practices from 9-12 each day. On Wednesday, Luke wanted to stay at the pool, so I left him there for a few hours and went home to take my house back. The boys had been on summer break for two and a half weeks and I was working and coaching swim team for 2 hours each night. It felt good to have a little reset to get ready for summer mode. Thursday morning brought some wild thunderstorms so swim practice was canceled. I wasn’t sure what the day would bring, but the sun came out and we ended up at the pool for a while. I made a late grocery pickup appoinment and enjoyed the lovely weather while I waited for the groceries to come out.

We changed practice up a bit on Friday so that the big kids and the little kids would be there overlapping for about 20 minutes to meet their big/little buddy. That meant we got to start our morning a little slower on Friday. It was a nice ease into the summer routine. Jack had an eye doctor appointment in the afternoon and Luke stayed at the pool for most of the day. We all made it home by half time of the USA game. Woohoo!! Great win! Then it was back to the pool for our pep rally and meet set up evening.

Pep Rally outfit – I love this dress!

I was up and moving EARLY Saturday morning, I’m talking alarm at 4:55 early. I headed to the pool to make sure everyone knew what needed to be done for morning set up and then headed home to get ready for our first swim meet. We were back by 7 for the meet. I am glad I thought to get a family picture before the meet started because I only took one more picture all day with my friend Kelly because we were matching. My mom and dad came to cheer on the boys – no pictures, oops! They swim in the same age group so they swam against each other three times. They both swam really well! So did the team and we won!

After the meet, Jack went right home because he had to work later but Jeff, Luke, and I stayed for a bit. Jeff and Luke left around 3:30 and I stayed and read and relaxed until about 5. I am reading Road Trip from my Summer Beach Reads list and it is so good!! Jack worked until 9 and then we all crashed. It was a long day!

On Sunday, I got up to start preparing for to celebrate our dads. I made a cherry pie and over baked some cookies (darn it!). Jack went to the golf course. Jeff, Luke, and I went to swim some laps and hang at the pool. Luke didn’t get to do much hanging because they needed a guard to fill in. So he worked for a few hours. Jeff and I went home to hang with Jack. I was making a rib roast and needed to get it in the oven by 1 pm. Holy cow was it good! (Haha see what I did there.) Jeff’s parents and my parents came over for dinner and it was a great evening! We are pretty lucky to have such great dads and it was nice to celebrate all 3 together – Jeff, his dad, and my dad.

I hope you’ll join us for Hello Monday and link up below if you blogged. I’m not sure what my blogging schedule will be this week. I have a few days that are packed to the gills, but I am going to try to post at least once. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
