Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

For all the Star Wars fans out there, May the 4th be with you!

We had a great weekend with great news for both Jack and Luke! Jack was offered a part time job at a golf course this summer and Luke passed his lifeguarding class so he can work at the pool this summer! Jack will still be working at the pool, but hopefully he’ll be able to spend even more time at the golf course with the new position.

Jeff and I went out to dinner on Friday night. We have both been thinking about The Cork in town and it worked out to go because Luke was in lifeguarding and Jack was at the golf course.

I was up bright and early to go to my parents’ house. Their street was having a yard sale and I went to help bring things out, but they were ready when I got there. I stayed and hung out with my parents for a while and it was lovely! Then Jamie met me and we went for a walk down the street to see what everyone was selling and then continued our walk around town.
When I got home, Jack was getting ready to head to the golf course and Luke was already at lifeguarding class. Jeff was headed to a friend’s Derby party. I enjoyed the quiet of the house and read for a bit. Then I picked Luke up from class and we headed to his soccer game. It was a great game and Luke almost scored. My mom and dad came to the game and then went to dinner with us.

I had one plan on Sunday and this was it:

I ended up finishing three books and starting two more. I decided to put my phone face down in the front hall for the day. It made such a difference. When I didn’t see my phone, I didn’t think about my phone. As I was writing this on Sunday night, I noticed how much calmer and more relaxed I feel even though I have a lot left on my to do list. Science says that our phones are not good for stress, anxious feelings, or calm, and it definitely felt like it today!

I also stripped our towels. Have you ever done that? I did it a few years ago and decided it was time to do it again. Jeff and I have had these towels since we got married (20 years in June) and I wasn’t sure if they were just getting old or needed stripping. It seems that the stripping worked and the towels are in good shape. We registered for a lot of towels and got even more so there has been a pretty big rotation.
I went for a walk in the sunshine, even though it was chilly. Jeff and Jack played golf in the afternoon. Then Luke and I went to the pool to put a new cover on our lane lines. The pool is still covered, but I think they’ll start filling it soon. The pool opens in 19 days and I am ready!

It was a great weekend! I got a little rest and relaxation, which I am going to need this week. However, I would love to add this extra day into the week!

Jack has three golf matches, Luke has a band concert, and I have a happy hour. It is May, so it’s time to buckle up and hold on until the end of the school year. If you blogged today, dont forget to link up below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Yeah for Maycember! Ahhh! Still my fave month of the year. I am sure you are counting down the days until the pool opening- so so close! Congrats to the boys on their jobs- yeah!
Yes! We should have 3 day weekends! Only 19 more days! That’s amazing! Woohoo!
