Hello Monday – 2/23/26

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday! Holly is off having a great time and soaking up some sunshine, I hope so I’m holding down the chilly fort. I’m glad you’re here!

We had a great weekend! It started Friday afternoon when I was so happy for the school day to be over. I had a really hard day at school and was so happy to see 2:45. I came home and plopped myself on the couch to watch the Olympics, of course. We met my parents for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants and had a great time. It was the best part of my day! They came back after dinner for dessert.

We headed to bed on the earlier side because we had to leave for Luke’s soccer game by 6:30 am. Oof! It was chilly, but Luke scored the first goal for his team and was pretty excited. Of course I had just put my camera/phone down when he scored. Isn’t it always that way??

After the game, we came home and did some around the house things while watching the Olympics.

So close for the women! Did you see that Cory played 193 ends in this Olympics and that is the most ever! Way to go!!

I opened all of our windows to get some fresh air. Have you heard of this? Instagram keeps telling me about the European thing where you open your house for a few minutes every day. I’ve seen it called “burping” the house. I don’t love that term, but I do love fresh air. With the windows open, I went for a long walk because the sun was shining! I even read on my deck and listened to the Olympics since the windows were still open. I did a bodyweight strength workout, thanks to the Peloton app.

On Saturday night we went to dinner at a friend’s house. Everything was delicious and we were there for hours. The other couples have college freshman and they did a group facetime with them. It was so fun to see the kids, too.

This outfit was so comfy! The sweater was on probation and didn’t make it. I had to use two safety pins to keep the wrap in place, goodbye! The jeans are new from Quince and might be my new favorites!

I was up nice and early on Sunday to catch the last day of the Olympics. We all watched the gold medal game and wow, what a game! Way to go Team USA!! I was in tears afterwards when they brought Johnny Gaudreau’s jersey and kids out on the ice for the celebratory picture. What a heartbreaking story and how wonderful that the hockey brotherhood is holding strong and supporting his family! The Olympics! ❤️❤️

The snow really started coming down during the hockey game. It switched back and forth between rain and snow for a bit, but didn’t stick to the ground in the morning or early afternoon. It sure was pretty!

I watched the highlights from the Olympics after the hockey game while I was working on some computer stuff.

I did all the regular Sunday things – meal planning, scheduling groceries, getting ready for the week, prepped dinner – before we headed out for Luke’s second soccer game of the weekend. We weren’t sure the game was going to happen but it did. It was heavy snowing the whole time and it was so cold! When Luke walked off the field, he said he thought he might lose a toe because his feet were frozen solid. Jeff did a great job driving us home safely with the roads getting messy.

This was the beginning of the game and were weren’t frozen solid, yet…

We were met with the smell of delicious chili when we walked in the door. Jack stayed home and put the chili on the stove to warm up so it was ready for dinner. Chili was perfect for our snowy evening. We all headed to bed with a 2 hour delay with re-evaluation. We’ll see what happens when we wake up this morning.

I wore my final Olympic outfit to cheer on the men’s hockey team.

I actually hope that we do go to school today. Monday is my day to get a lot done and we haven’t had many Mondays lately. Our school schedule has been a mess with snow days, weather early dismissal days, planned early dismissal days, professional development, and holidays. Since Thanksgiving, we have only had one full five day week. Isn’t that crazy?? I’m trying not to worry about the things I want to get done at school because there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see the five books I read in February. I found a new to me author and am loving the book I am reading now! If you blogged today, be sure to join in the linkup below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

That is crazy! As much as I hated a 5 day week sometimes, they were so necessary to the routine and feeling like I had my act together. Love your Olympics love. You are probably going to have withdrawal. Thanks for the link up!

So hard to get into the school rhythm with all the delays. That snow soccer looks crazy! I loved the Olympics and am going to have to detox from all the tv viewing I’ve done in the last two weeks. Have a great day!

What a great weekend! I’m sorry to hear you had a hard day on Friday, but I’m glad you turned it around by eating with your parents and having them over afterward. Sometimes that’s all we need! I hope you’re able to get the things done at school when you have the time today or this week. Happy Monday, friend!

How lovely to have dinner with your parents after a hard day at school. Good job to Luke with the goal! I had all the windows open yesterday, it was such a nice day. I’ve never heard of it called burping before. Brr! It does look cold for Luke’s 2nd soccer game, good on them for still playing.

I like how you like the Olympics so much. I’ve not watched a minute of them and low key feel like a bad American!! Your weekend looks so nice except the snow- I had to drive in some as well but it wasn’t too bad. The soccer pics in the snow are too funny! I hope your enjoyed your day off!

That hockey game was incredible. Looks like more snow is headed your way. I’m sorry to hear Friday was a tough day at work, but hope going out to eat and watching the Olympics brightened your day. I know what you mean about the wrap sweater – nobody has time for that!

I remember how often I got thrown off my rhythm in January and February due to so many changes in our schedule, whether they were planned or not. Of course, the kids were all mixed up, too, which added another layer to our days! Good luck getting through them all! So glad you had a few fun events over the weekend to help center you! Thanks so much for the party! Praying that this week is off to a good start!

The Olympics have been so exciting and that Hockey game win was so emotional! Wow! The snow has been crazy this winter. I wish we would get a little bit down here in GA even for just a day. I’m sorry you had a rough Friday. Those days are so tough! Hopefully this week will be much better!!
