Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday! We do not have school today. If you are off, I hope you are enjoying one more day in your weekend!

We had a great weekend! On Friday, Jack went to a basketball game, Jeff worked, and Luke and I hung out at home together. We woke up to snow on Saturday morning and thought Luke’s outdoor soccer game would surely be cancelled. Nope!

They played in the snow. He thought it was so fun! It was fun to watch, even though it was chilly!

We went from the snowy outside to a very warm inside activity. Luke always asks for an experience when there is a gift giving opportunity. This year we gave him a glass blowing experience. He asked for the whole family to come so off we went. It was so fun. If you are local, we went to McFadden Art Glass. Luke went first, then Jack, me, and Jeff. Luke made a paperweight with a jellyfish inside and he made his in layers. Jack made a tall drinking glass. I made a spoon rest but I am hoping to use it to hold rings or earrings on my dresser. Jeff made a rocks glass. We will pick them up next weekend after they’ve cooled down and are ready. We didn’t actually blow the glass, but we did all the rolling, shaping, and finishing work with the help of the actual experts. I tried to put our pictures in order – plop the glass in the colors, roll it in the fire, shape it at the seat, back to the fire, and use the table to finish the shape.

After we came home, I headed back out to meet some friends for birthday beers. It was great to see Jamie and Kerry, their husbands, and an old friend from high school.

On Sunday, we were up and headed to a swim meet. It was cold and misty so I didn’t walk the trails, but I did get a good bit of reading done. I started The Correspondent and I am enjoying it so far. Fun fact, the author went to JMU, just like me!

The kids swam really well and had best times or times very close to their best times. The meet went really quickly, too. We went out to lunch and stopped at the outlets on the way home. I usually have a lot of success at the Gap outlet, but struck out this time. The boys did well at Under Armour. UA was having a great sale and honored the teacher discount on top of the sale prices. Woohoo!
It started snowing on our way home and kept snowing for about an hour. I hopped into my pjs right away and relaxed for the rest of the evening while we watched football. It was lovely!

We are headed to day two of the swim meet today. Jeff’s going with us. It’s going to be chilly but sunny so I am hoping to get a good long walk in during warmups. We’ll grab some lunch on the way home and then get ready for the week. If you blogged today, be sure to link up with us below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

That glass blowing sounds like a lot of fun! We had a very snowy weekend and woke to more snow this morning so I’m enjoying a slow start to the day assuming most things are either going to be closed or delayed opening. Unlike my husband and son who left extra early for plowing.
Glass blowing looks really neat! We were supposed to get snow on Saturday but we didn’t. It was and is bitterly cold. Just looking at the water at the swim meet makes me cold- I realize that it’s indoors!! I’m glad the boys did well. Have a great Monday!
Swim meets are the best winter activity. It’s so hot in there that it feels like summer. 😊
What a cool – hot gift! Haha! We have gone to a demo before but not done it ourselves! I love that he wanted an experience. I’m excited to read The Correspondent!
What a great weekend! Love that the kids still played soccer in the snow-that must’ve been fun. Always love seeing you inside at the pool in the winter too. Lastly, the glass blowing looks like such a fun family event 🙂
It does sound like a great weekend.
Ahh! The only time they seem to cancel soccer games here is if the ground if frozen solid. Eek! The glass blowing sounds like a fantastic experience. What fun!
The snow is so pretty. Wow – the glass blowing experience sounds so cool. Your boys are looking so much older! I hope you all had a great day off from school.
The glass blowing looks like so much fun!
