Hello Monday – 12/8/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

We had a GREAT weekend! I have EIGHT GREAT things to share with you!

1-How about JMU??? I watched the first half of the Sun Belt championship game on Friday evening and was so proud of the Dukes! My alarm was going off at 4:20 am on Saturday, so I went to bed confident that the Dukes would finish the game with a win. And they did!!

2-I was so happy to wake up to a little snow on the ground and not the .05 inches of ice that were forecasted. We drove through some snow, but made it to the pool by 6:35 for warmups.

3-Saturday’s swims were so great! Jack and Luke had all best times and it was really fun to watch!

4-We always stay at the Spring Hill Suites hotel. It’s close to the pool and most of the boys’ friends stay there, too. I could only get a king bed reservation, but when we arrived they informed me that there wasn’t a king bed room available and we would have to take a two doubles room. Well, that was perfect! I wanted a two doubles room in the first place. We always have to ask for early breakfast on the weekends because the kids have to be in the pool at 7 am when breakfast starts. The manager wasn’t so sure they could make it happen, but the wonderful woman that prepared breakfast had eggs and sausage ready for the swimmers in plenty of time. Another win!

Oh, this bed… I have spent many a night on this couch/bed. It’s not so comfortable, but I don’t mind it because it means we are having fun at GMU!

5-We went to Tyson’s Corner to make a quick return and shop around. The kids did a little shopping while my friend Kristen and I shopped. I haven’t shopped a mall in a while and it was fun! I also got to try a Cheryl’s cookie. Holy amazing! I had the s’mores cookie and wowzers! What a cookie!

6-We met some more friends for dinner at Olive Garden. They put the nine of us in a semi-private room (smart!) and it was so fun. The kids carbed up and had fun!

7-Sunday morning came pretty early, but we had a great breakfast and headed back to the pool. It was another day of great swims for Jack and Luke! I am so proud of them!

8-We were home early enough to get some things done around the house. I planted the tulips my mom bought from Holland when she was there in the spring. I can’t wait to see them in the spring! I got some regular weekend things done so I can be ready for the week.

Luke started working on the flyer for his Ronald McDonald House donation drive. He’s holding a drive to collect ramen noodle cups and mac and cheese cups. Luke is going to follow Santa when he comes through the neighborhood on the firetruck to collect the items. He also made an Amazon wishlist if you would to contribute. We have a great week ahead of us. I have family shopping at our Book Fair tonight. We have Luke’s holiday concert tomorrow night. I’m not sure what Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will bring but I am sure it will be fun! If you blogged today, be sure to link up with us below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

What a fun and social swim weekend! I went to our mall twice last week and it was nice to look around and be among the festive decor! There were at least 100 people walking for exercise!

Waking up to snow is so much better than ice. Glad y’all made it safely and had a good weekend. How nice it was of the hotel to make breakfast a little early for the swimmers. Happy Monday!

What a terrific weekend! Sounds like the season is off to a strong start :). What a cool drive for the Ronald McDonald house – I’m sure you are proud of his efforts. Thanks for reminding me about tulip bulbs – need to put that on my list for this week!

That sounds like such a fun weekend! It’s so sweet of the hotel to try and accommodate the swimmers with early food; they for sure need to fuel up.

Sounds like a fun busy weekend. I haven’t been in a mall in quite a while either. Ours isn’t close so I don’t think about shopping there often. It’s nice when vendors and service people are accommodating. Glad you had a good weekend!

Sounds like a fun weekend. That is nice the hotel is accommodating to an earlier breakfast for the swimmers. I hate to say when I worked at a hotel years ago we would not do that.
