Friday Favorites – 12/5/25

Happy Friday! What a great start to December we’ve had!! It is cold, cold, cold, but that does help get into the Christmas spirit! Let’s get to the favorites!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: CHRISTMAS SPIRIT! I am loving all the decorations and lights! The music and the tv specials! The Hallmark movies and classic Christmas movies! Heck, I even love the commercials! It’s all so so good!

I am also loving my Christmas clothes to bring that spirit! These plaid shoelaces are a favorite! In a not so merry announcement, Brooks shared that they are no longer making any Christmas shoes. WHAT!?! Are you kidding me?!?

Old plaid Lands End vest & old Brooks sneakers
I love this Cora’s Den necklace, but it doesn’t look like she’s making them anymore. There are plenty of cute earrings though.

Favorite 2: BOOKS! I am reading as much as I possibly can lately. I am still working through Christmas with the Queen. It’s taking me a while because I am reading the physical book and can’t read it in bed. It’s great though! I am also reading The Secret Christmas Library by Jenny Colgan. I love that it is a sequel to her short story from last year! I have a big list of Christmas books to read before the year is over. I never get to all of them, but I am trying! Luke and I started listening to the next book in the FunJungle series and we’re enjoying that on our drives.

I am in the middle of the Book Fair at school. 14 classes previewed and made their wish lists. 7 classes will make their wish lists today. It’s always exciting, but a little exhausting to repeat my Book Fair schpiel 21 times. This is the smoothest it has been in a long time, and I hope I didn’t just jinx myself by typing that. 🤞🏼

Favorite 3: SWIM! Luke had another high school swim meet this week and did a great job! If you remember, he was out of swimming for a few months earlier this year after surgery and an osgood schlatters diagnosis. He is absolutely crushing his times from January and February. Part of it is that he’s grown but he is also working hard in the pool. It is paying off big time! Jack has been working hard in the pool and putting some time in with weights and he’s gotten a good bit stronger too. I am so excited for their swim meet this weekend. It’s a big meet with a fast pool and is always so much fun!

He looks like he’s swimming alone, but Luke was just swimmming fast!

Favorite 4: WRAPPED!! I hope you don’t think I am talking about gifts because I have not wrapped one thing. But, Spotify released 2025 Wrapped this week and I love it. It’s fun to see what they analyze each year. I was not surprised by my stats. I definitely listen to more podcasts than music and my music tastes do not change much.

Favorite 5: SUNSHINE AND (FREEZING) RAIN! We had a two hour delay this week for flurries and freezing rain. It was so nice to ease into our Tuesday. Then on Thursday morning, we had the most beautiful sunrise as I walked into school. The weather is working in my favor this week. They are calling for really cold flurries today, so we’ll see what happens.

We have a fun weekend ahead with the swim meet. As I prepare for the meet, I keep forgetting that I only have to attend one session per day. The same was true last year, but after so many years of double sessions I can’t make my brain remember it. I am packing my books and my knitting to keep me busy in between cheering for the kids and their friends. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I love this time of year too, especially the commercials, they are such fun! Your Christmas outfits are fab! It sounds like the Book Fair is going well and the boys with the swimming!

You are festive from head to toe! Love the family pic with your parents. I’m reading the same book – but on my kindle. I have the same “issue” with physical books – just not as convenient as a kindle is these days. I hope you all had a great weekend and that the swim meet went well 🙂
