Hello Monday – 12/1/25

Happy Monday! Happy December! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I thought I might get to posting for Friday Favorites, but that did not happen. I was too busy enjoying our Thanksgiving day. Let’s head back to Tuesday to start recapping the high points of our week. After work on Tuesday, I decided to put our tree up and get the lights on it. Is it a pain to put lights on the tree? Yes. Have I found a fake tree in my budget with enough lights for my liking? Absolutely not. So, I put the lights on each year. This year I got 1300 lights on our tree and I love it!

Darth Vader stayed on the tree all year! Ha!

I had a half day on Wednesday. Wasn’t the sunrise beautiful?

I finished setting up our Book Fair. We have browse week this week and will be open for shopping next week. It’s a whirlwind couple of weeks but oh so fun! One of my favorite parts of our Book Fair week is the day we make sure kids that may not be able to afford a book get one. There is so much joy and excitement! We have a Book Fairy account where people can donate and it is the best!

The weather was gorgeous Wednesday afternoon and I took advantage of it. I put the lights on our first floor roof and on the mudroom deck. The kids played outside most of the day which was so great! We had a quick rain shower and that brought the cold weather. I finished setting up our front yard tree in that chilly weather, but I got it all done! We watched Charlie Brown before bed.

My guys met my dad to play golf on Thanksgiving morning and I went to my parents’ to cook with my mom and watch the parade. I loved it! The Rockette’s outfits were so fun and the music was great! The guys joined us after golf and then Jeff’s parents, my aunt and uncle, and my parents’ dear friends started arriving for the afternoon and evening. We had yummy appetizers and good company to watch football and kept cooking. I did a little knitting while we were chatting.

My mom said we were eating at 5 pm and we actually ate at 5 pm on the dot! That never happens! It was all delicious and we had great conversations around the table.

Aunt Donna and I went for a breezy walk after dinner, like we did two years ago. Main Street in my parents’ town lights up all the trees and they play Christmas music all day long. It was so nice, even if it was cold enough to get our ears pierced.

I did not set an alarm on Friday and eased into the morning. I watched the Today show and got started decorating. Jack hung out with a friend and went to our local high school football game. Luke hung out with a friend and then went to swim pratice. I kept decorating and stopped for a few reading and shopping breaks.

I was up and moving Saturday around and kept decorating. We did the ornaments on our family tree. I worked until about 2, when I got ready for the electric lights parade! I love the parade! We went to dinner with my parents and sat in the window so we could watch from inside. It was a good one!

Sunday was another great day! We woke up to sleet and flurries.

We finished decorating the little trees. I went for a freezing walk in the sunshine. Jack had some friends over and Luke went to a friend’s house. I had groceries delivered and headed to bed on the early side because this is going to be a fun, but busy week.

Reading in front of a Christmas tree with my Christmas village shining 😍

For anyone keeping track, I had to go to Home Depot three times this weekend. Woohoo!

Even though it will be early, this will be a great view as I come downstairs today.

I am looking for a few cyber Monday deals today. Are you? If you blogged today, please join us below. Have a great day full of sunshine and Christmas books!

I LOVE lots of lights on my tree. We went back to the pre-lit one this year and it’s just not the same.

Sounds like a great weekend! It turned cold here too and our little town parade and tree lighting is tonite. Everyone loves a book fair I think. I loved them as a kid myself, and when my girls were in school too. Hope the week goes well. Your house looks pretty and I love waking up to a lit tree too.

Love that tree! My prelit has died! Argh! Well, the middle lights work. The morning lit tree is my fave, but I also have my mantel lights. Reading in front of it – next level! Looks like you had a nice Thanksgiving!

Your Christmas tree looks so beautiful! I love all the lights–one of the best part of a tree on these dark evenings. Your Thanksgiving looked wonderful!
    Have a very Happy December!

I just love your and your mom’s sweaters! I’ve looked at a few cyber Monday deals but I haven’t bought anything yet. I’m debating about some theater tickets for next year and I still need to check with those people I’d like to take with me.
